Clocked only 2K+ mileage so far. I am getting around 12.5 ~ 13,8 km/litre (195/55/R15 tyres) i.e. based on pump n calculate.

 

Will be heading North the end of next month. Hope to see the 18 km/L figure someday.

I`ve only managed 12.5 after changing to 16 inch rims n tyres but i think its pretty acceptable for a car of this bodysize.Hey 05 dont forget to update us if you get to see 18km/l when you head north

70% Highway 30% urban.

14" rim. No mod except grounding wires.

I think it is too early to tell as yet of the fuel comsumption as I believe most airwavers here is in the run in period. Getting 12 -13 plus km/l is real good already at this stage. I believe the only true results will start coming in after the 5k mark and also when you start with synthetic oil from the mineral oil. Correct me if I am wrong. Just my 2 cents!

Remember my comment on the "sudden dimming of the cabin light" i.e. even while my engine is idling? Went to Autobacs today to check. FYI, they provide FOC battery assessment.

 

The mechanic commented that the Alternator takes over the electrical supply once the engine starts running. The battery is only "engage" in the start-up process of the engine. As long as we could start the engine + battery signal O.K., the battery (moreover is new) is perfectly alright. It definitely sound logical.

 

Hence, still as to what causes the dim. Alternator? Bulb? Already hv a Pivot Voltage Stabilizer + grounding. What could b the cause?

 

Does changing to one step higher AH battery (e.g. 45AH/55AH) "help the alternator in the electrical supply" i.e. even while the aircon compressor kicks-in?

 

If anyone has any thought, experience or input, appreciate greatly.

Have the same problem as you. Before adding my grounding wires, I have to start the engine to flap the side mirrors. But with only the grounding wires, flapping the side mirrors without turning on the engine is possible. The "sudden dimming" does not seems to be there anymore. Have not done anything to my car except changing away the lousy speakers.

 

Went to my workshop, they told me that it could be due to the current output from the puny battery we have in the car. That's how I was convince to get my grounding wires installed.

Will monitor my battery until the next 10K oil change. Very "itchy" to change it to higher rating i.e. 45AH or 55AH.
