Hi guys, was invited indirectly by a friend for the Superb soft launch this evening.

It was a success, Harvest did a good launch and delivered on the promise in keeping the prices down.

Base model,

Superb: 89K - No park assist, not GPS Nav, no side window blinds, no rear screen blinds, no adaptive Bi-Xenon and fog lights.

But have two power seats, steering wheel full system - volume control and selector for radio, etc.....alot of toys.

Simply Superb: 98K - has everything that you would need and more!

Superb V6 3.6L: 118K - has all the bells and whistle plus power plant under the hood.

The Drive:

I was the first in line to test drive the new Superb with two other friends. One drives a BMW and the other a Toyota man.

The internal form and features are well made interior with classy lines and boast confidence and quality. You need to seat in one to feel it.

The dual boot system is amazing I like it very very much it makes so much sense and when you close the boot if you need not close it hard enough, it has a clever suction system that sucks the boot tight shut. The interior with the lowered ceiling will make the cabin look a little smaller compared with the current Superb, but it gives the external look a little sportier. Inside the rear leg room is suprisingly longer than my current superb. I do not know how they did it but they did it. It is LLLLOOOOOONG. ( My BMW friend and Toyota friend are already sold - great price, great quality, overall great car)

The quality is impeccable, you'd never expect such quality with this price range, NEVER find it in ANY OTHER CAR. Let me repeat that, NO OTHER CAR can compete with this price range, CAMRY and ACCORD cannot fight at all, not even close in quality and built.

Engine:

1.8TSI pure thoroughbred, 156 horses was screaming to come out pushing the car from 0-100 in 8.6 secs(mind you this is before chip up. ;) ) After chip up I believe should be in the 7 seconds range with 210-220hp and over 310 of torque.

The car moves effortlessly, slight tap on the accelerator it powers the car forward, it did not seem overweight even though we had four huge guys in the car. Steering is more distinct and communicates more with the driver compared to current Superb, the suspension has been totally made over as it is not the floaty soft ride like the current superb but a more rigid ride that still keeps the comfort ride.

Pushing the car from tip tronic from 1-3 gear we are already at 100km/h before we ran out of road and the traffic light was a pulsating red.

My BMW friend tested it and prefered his BMW 325's braking power as the Superb took slightly longer to brake when compared to my friend's BMW, BUT compared to the current Superb it felt very good.

The engine transmission from gear to gear in Auto mode was seamless and seem like a hot knife cutting through butter.

Overall I am tremendously impressed with the new Skoda Superb, it has been an awesome experience.

Now to go look for my credit card to put down the down payment........

Hi bro,

Very informative review. Are we expecting a new Superb owner in our forum anytime soon?

If you are a high mileage car owner, it may be prudent to request if the 2.0 CR TDI version is available on indent basis. Granted there is an additional diesel tax to be paid on top of the annual road tax, the operating efficiency of the diesel engine and price of the diesel fuel should be able to cover the EXTRA tax.

I have read that Skoda has biodiesel kits - essentially uprated fuel lines that resist erosion by the solvent properties of biodiesel, available. If this option is available, you will be able to top up biodiesel at $0.90/l from the following biodiesel retailer. This will make diesel car ownership more attractive.

Hi bro,

din know u were present at the media launch tonight else would have approached u to say hi.

Yes the launch was quite a success with great turnouts and many positive feedbacks from guests.

There's some slight error on the price u indicated,i've amended them so as not to confuse anyone here.

Base model,

Superb: 89K(should be 89,800) - No park assist, not GPS Nav, no side window blinds, no rear screen blinds, no adaptive Bi-Xenon but adaptive projectors with foglamps.

But have two power seats, steering wheel full system - volume control and selector for radio, etc.....alot of toys.

Simply Superb: 98K(should be 99,800) - has everything that you would need and more!

Superb V6 3.6L: 118K(should be 118,800) - has all the bells and whistle plus power plant under the hood, solar cell sunroof.

My apology for the amendments bro [;)]

Hope to see more Skoda forumers on this saturday at the launch. [thumbsup]

Thanks for the correction, I was too lazy to type out the whole thing, I have the price list in hand. [:p]

The car is awesome and I am totally taken by it, the drive, the feel, the confidence, I would be very proud driving it. A friend was thinking of a pre-owned Audi A6, but after sitting in the Skoda Superb, he wants to get one himself.

The entire package is well place and priced.

Good job Harvest. [;)]
