  1. Maybe guys like these are planted to make driving less appealing. Maybe I'm watching too many conspiracy videos. What happened? An uncle with nothing better to do on Telok Kurau road decided to hold up traffic and be a nuisance, as well as damage other people’s cars by banging on the bonnets. The video shows that this uncle blocked a taxi with his body, kicking it and swinging his hands in the air like he just don’t care. However, the taxi was luckily able to escape. The same cannot be said for the car behind the taxi, which was forced to stay in front of the uncle and was treated to a no doubt unpleasant tirade, as well as damage from the uncle’s fists. It is unknown how long he spent in the area, as a variety of motorists were spotted being harassed by him. An elderly man attempted to stop him but was threatened with violence and subject to a cringe display of… whatever this is supposed to be. Another motorist eventually got him off the road, and police arrived to investigate the situation. Online chatter Many speculate him being on substances or having mental health problems.
  2. I am sure everyone have been irritated by telemarketing calls to their mobile phones. * especially the roaming charges incurred when overseas. What I will personally do to counter these telemarketing calls : 1. any call that was identified as telemarketing calls will be saved with contact name "Block". 2. all these "Block" contacts will be marked "reject all calls", so that my mobile phone will block their future calls and will not ring. 3. all contacts will be linked to google account, and transferred to the next phone when upgrading handset. The next step is online [MCF] sharing of these "Block" telemarketing nos, so that the "blockage" can be widened. - example : 12345678 - abc insurance 45678901 - cde spa etc..... - would the online [MCF] sharing/posting be allowed ?
  3. Just need some to import those birds here. Tell them there are a lot of traffic cameras here ..... Yahoo news: Birds Keep Building Nest In Front Of Traffic Cam A group of Ospreys, large fish-eating birds of prey, have opted to build their nest in front of a traffic camera on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and no matter how many times officials take the nest down, the Ospreys just build a new one. All in all, the nest has been removed three times and then rebuilt again by the Ospreys. Yup, these birds have definitely ruffled the MDTA’s feathers. link: https://sg.entertainment.yahoo.com/video/birds-keep-building-nest-front-131824545.html sorry, unable to downlaod the video from office computer ...
  4. Hi guys, I'm thinking of blocking up my egr valve as the amt of carbon in my intake is quite scary. B4 I do so anyone knows the effects? Thanks in advance guys Cheers
  5. I've encountered my shared of such pranks in the wee hours over several years as I work night shift. I will usually on hazard light, get out of my car to shift the obstacles away. There was once along woodlands area a dustbin was placed right smack in the middle of a road. damn knn one. I urge all drivers to keep a lookout for such "jackass" pranks made by impressionable teens and promptly remove them for safety of other drivers. Look around the area too, they may be watching.
  6. http://tnp.sg/news/story/0,4136,233890,00.html? Why would anyone be like him?
  7. Haiz... charbor again... why no brain one..
  8. not sure if this is posted. driver appears at 2.12 mark
  9. This car was parked along the curb on a double yellow line. For those who knows this Shell station inSiglap, access is from behind this vehicle on the upper left of this car. All the cars coming in to pump petrol have to go from the top, and reverse into the pump. This guy was not at the station as the attendant was going around asking everyone who the car belongs to, as he was causing a pile-up behind. I wash my car, buy newspaper and pump petrol, after all that he was still aound, presumable park at the station and went off somewhere else, saving money on carparking at the adjecent public carpark (my guess lah). Well done my friend, you managed to have your 30 mins of famed with everyone in Siglap that day !!!!
  10. Let's say if the right turning lane is slow and congested, everyday you will see people driving in the middle lane all the way until the last minute and then filter to the right lane so as to "cut queue". Lets say this guy cannot cut in and stop in the middle lane blocking the forward traffic. What will u do if you are the car behind him trying to go forward in the middle lane? I see this all the time and it is very fustrating as during peak hours traffic is already so bad and there are still so many inconsiderate drivers. I mean if you want to cut queue and cut in at last minute, fine. But if are unable to cut in, how can you stick out in the middle lane and block the forward moving traffic? And amazingly, not many people horn such people leh and I see more and more such axxxxxes everyday.
  11. Source: http://sg.hardwarezone.com/news/view.php?id=10759&cid=8 Report Finds StarHub Blocking BitTorrent Traffic Internet and Networking | Reads from WWW Fri 23 May 2008 digg this. slashdot this. In a report done by German institute concerning Bittorrent blocking activities in various parts of the world, StarHub has been named as one of the few ISPs in the world that engages in Bittorrent traffic blocking. According to the report, StarHub is actively blocking users from uploading data to other users, which in turn slows down Bittorrent download speeds. Do note that the study also states this blocking is different from active throttling that ISPs may also do. Furthermore, this is not the end all conclusive report, as they are still fine tuning the data collection and analysis methods. Max Planck Institute - More than 8,000 users from locations around the world have used our tool, Glasnost, to test whether their BitTorrent traffic is being manipulated. On this page, we present preliminary results from these tests. The tests were conducted between March 18th and May 15th 2008. We will update this page with more detailed results as we get more data from the tests. We also hope to uncover more cases of blocking as we refine our measurement tool and our analysis. So make sure to check back later. Alternately, you can stay up-to-date on our findings by subscribing to the glasnost-updates mailing list. See here for the full report. HWZ.com has also checked with StarHub and has gotten the following reply from the StarHub spokesperson regarding the above issue: "It is a known fact that P2P traffic is bandwidth intensive and can use up significant network resources. Hence, all ISPs employ bandwidth management tools to ensure that all traffic is given equal priority such that the service expectations of their online users are met. We do not specifically block P2P traffic. Like all ISPs in the world, we do, however, employ bandwidth management tools to ensure that all our customers receive an optimal surfing experience."
