  1. I went to test drove the KIA Sorento and Hyundai Tucson today.... The followings are my personal views: KIA Sorento 2.4 premium Pro: 1) Lots of features: HID, twin-moonroof, ESP, etc 2) 7 Seaters 3) High OMV (can be confirmed only when registered next Mar) 4) Lower PM Con: 1) Plastic quality somehow inferior 2) Finishing quality lower than Hyundai 3) 2nd row fixed 4) 3rd row rather clamp 5) Backside almost the same as other SUV 6) Lack of built reverse camera with screen in the rearview mirrior Huyndai 2.0 SP Pro: 1) Nice profile 2) High finishing 3) Better grade plastics 4) Quiter Engine 5) Built reverse camera with screen in the rearview mirrior Con: 1) Lower OMV 2) Rather bare features comapred to KIA 3) High PM 4) Manual Aircon control Though Sorento is supposed to be comapred with Sante Fe as they are in the same league.. I am comapring as they are the latest SUV in the market now. Between these 2 SUV, I would choose Sorento if I want to a SUV. Both ADs are offering very low for my ody plus it is only 2.5 yr old so it is too wasteful, right?
  2. Just dropped off my wife at Dover MRT station and was on my way home... Was driving along Commonwealth Ave West and turning into Clementi Road toward Bukit Timah... I was on the 2nd straight / turning lane with the turn right only lane to my right... As I made the turn into Clementi Road into the 2nd lane, I saw this Tuscon only inches away from me from my side mirror and this axxhole gave me a honk right in my face as if I was eating into his lane... I assume that he was in the right turn only lane and thought that I would take up the 3rd lane after I made the turn... But he thought wrong... KNN... What the fark is wrong with you uncle??!! That uncle even played the braking game with me... I really didn't want to spoil my day and just drove off... What an idiot...
  3. Was travelling from sembawang after a recce trip to a new workplace when i was along yishun on a rather empty 3 lane road doing about 90km/h (speed limit 70km/h i think) when a latio zoomed past me at about 120-130km/h on my left being in the middle lane, it was only a split second later when i saw a teal green tuscon zoom by at least 150km/h or more! and the supercharger howl was screaming like crazy even with my windows wound up and the radio on :) now that's one quick tuscon. Probably with the aftermarket supercharger. suitably impressed at its capabilities. 1st time seeing a supercharged tuscon in action. sleeper car with no external mods. earlier in the evening, a nice lady in a white integra was literally racing me along mandai road doing in excess of 120km/h with very sharp and drama lane changes between cars in front, not bad for a lady but whats the fun in pushing an overweight suv like mine? so again, from the middle lance of a 3 lane road, i filtered extreme left and let her zoom zoom off :) what an eye opener. staying in the south west area, it was quite an eye opener to see so many go faster souped up cars and pretty able drivers in the north, a place i have no reason to visit often in the past.............. just sharing a rather uneventful eveing.
  4. Any comments on the above mentioned cars?
  5. Indeed , last friday, saw a VERY BIG new Tuscon ...SFY**** (think is light yellow in colour) parked at Shaw Tower ($1 parking beside suntec city), so BIG that it wants take up 2 parking lots, eats almost 30% into the center lot . The inconsiderate "parker" (maybe not even its owner) is just being plain selfish (so that he can alight the car with ease, maybe too fat) or rushing to see movie or what such that got no time to park properly. The point is I realise cars passes by, stop, take a glance, shake head and continue. If that Tuscon driver is here, please be considerate next time. The same goes for people parking at Isetan Scotts which lots are so small, please park properly.
