  1. Hi folks! I am currently planning for battery replacement and am looking for a maintenance free battery for my Aveo. Are there any good recommendations around? I am looking for a 55 to 65AH maintenance free (non-wet) type with battery status indicator that fits into my Aveo bracket. Currently, I am using the Delkor 55AH maintenace free battery with indicator, and it has been serving me well for the past 18 months. Is this brand good? Should I get back this brand? Should I just get it at Starsauto during my next servicing coming up in a few weeks time? Is it going to be very much more expensive than outside? If not, what are your recommendations with considerations to the followings: - Battery brand; - Reliability of Shop (inclusive of installation); - Price; - Rating of battery (no ICE, just the stock set); - Location of the shop; Alternatively, as I am an AAS member, should I just wait for it to die one fine day, and call AA to replace? What are their charges, and do I still get to choose my battery? I know I can use the search, and I've been keeping an eye on the battery threads. However, I feel that these things changes very fast: - reliable shops can become unreliable overnight; - Battery quality may change overnight; - Prices of batteries may change over time; - I am not Luke; - The force isn't with me; Hopefully, you all can help this clueless soul make a hassle free change of battery and keep it going for the next 18 months. Thanks!

  4. I am planning to service my Aveo outside. Anyone has any recommended workshop in the west area? My Aveo is 1 yr old and just completed 20k at Alpine and the damage was $129 (+own cxxxxxe oil at $30). Actually i was thinking to just take up the mineral package at Alpine and run up to 10k for next servicing to save some cost but maybe outside synthetic oil package is cheaper compare to Alpine. Saw the SPC servicing at $68 before and i even consider comfortdelgro group at Pandan. Hope to gather more info from bros here. Cheers.
  5. [extract] When Chevrolet introduced the new Sonic (known as the Aveo in Singapore) with the 1.4-Liter turbocharged petrol engine, it was available exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Now, GM announced that it will be available with the option of a 6-speed automatic. This is good business strategy as not everyone prefers to switch gears by themselves.
  6. [extract] One of the several vehicles showcased by Chevrolet at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show is the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS (also known as the Aveo in some countries). The aggressive look of the Sonic RS is much inspired by the concept that debut a couple of years ago. The Chevrolet Sonic RS remains true to the concept
  7. Here are official design patent drawings of the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Aveo four-door sedan and five-door hatchback models, filed by General Motors. The next generation of GM's Ford Fiesta rival was teased in concept form with the sporty Aveo RS hatchback study at 2010 Detroit Auto Show in January. The drawings of the five-door model suggest that the production version follows pretty closely to the RS concept minus of course some snazzy details like the shaved door handles, huge alloy wheels and the more pronounced side sills. The hatchback does keep the concept study's hidden rear door handles that are concealed in the C-pillars. The sedan, on the other hand, gets a more conventional design with the roof-line similar to the larger Cruze. We're likely to see the production versions of both the sedan and hatchback Aveo making their official debut by the end of this year's auto show season, possibly even at the Paris show in September, with sales following in 2011.
  8. [extract] Chevrolet has unveiled the 2012 Sonic, ahead of its debut at the North American International Auto Show. Called the Aveo in Singapore
  9. What you're staring at in disbelief is Chevrolet's Aveo RS Concept car. A little out of the fantasy books but if you tear away the aggressive bumpers, ridiculously large rims and the center exhausts at the rear, you're essentially looking at Chevrolet's next generation Aveo. In terms of design both inside and out, the team at Chevrolet seem to have been given the order to step it up a notch and bring this entry level affordable runaround into the more serious market occupied by the new VW Polo. And what a way to really get the competition worried. The steering wheel does look identical to the Cruze's and so does the centre console. What's really unique here is the motorcycle inspired meter cluster...that's just really really magical isn't it? The leather seats get outlined in cool blue as well. With most concepts though, most of these awesome and impractical designs will never make it to see the light of day out of the factory so along with the bumpers, rims and center exhausts, those brake rotors are gone, mirrors, rear door handle which has been integrated to the body Alfa style and headlamp cluster. We're not sure if the interior is going to be changed massively but we're hoping they keep the motorcycle guages. Currently the RS should never see production but with the Polo having its own GTI line, it's a matter of time before we'll get a taste of the RS.
