  1. Someone has posted an image of the upcoming Land Rover Defender on Instagram. The long-awaited SUV, is seen here free or almost free of any camouflage. According to the Instagram user, the photo was snapped on the film set of the latest James Bond film where the all new Defender is set to star. We are already aware it will look different from the previous-generation Defender thanks to the official teasers from Land Rover but from this photo, the Defender does look a little softer and more of a fashion statement than a proper off roader. Of course, Land Rover will disagree and point us to the impressive amount of ground clearance shown. Set to be launched at the Frankfurt Auto Show next month, the SUV is rumored to be launched in 110 guise first with engine options consisting of three petrol models available, namely a 296bhp 2.0-litre, a 398bhp plug-in hybrid, and a 395bhp 3.0-litre six-cylinder.
  2. Hi people, am looking for something way in advance.. but wondering if there are places that allow rental of some land rover models. like defenders perhaps? hope to hear what you guys think. or know. if there are any goodplaces for rentals etc.
  3. hi bros, I though this new land rover simply looks stunning. Its rival include F-pace, x4, glc coupe and macan. Was revealed earlier this month in UK. I guess will reach our sunny island in 2018? What you guys think?
  4. New Road Rover model to launch in 2019 New Land Rover model line will kick off with an electric-powered XJ-sized luxury vehicle The first production vehicle will be a premium all-electric model, aimed primarily at markets such as California in the US and China. The first Road Rover is understood to be a Mercedes-Benz S-Class rival in terms of outright luxury and interior craftsmanship but with
some ‘all-terrain’ capability. The car will also be tuned
for impressive on-road dynamic performance, taking advantage of the potential delivered by electric motors. The car could make its public debut at the Los Angeles motor show in late 2019, with sales starting soon after. Prices are expected to be pegged at around £90,000 for the top-line versions. Over time, the Road Rover line-up is expected to develop into a series of more car-like and road-friendly, but still rugged, vehicles. In fact, Autocar understands that the first Road Rover model is being developed in parallel with the next-generation XJ. The underlying structure for both of these vehicles is a new-generation aluminium architecture that can accommodate both battery packs and piston engines. It’s thought that the new XJ and the Road Rover will both be pure-electric vehicles with twin electric motors and on-demand all-wheel drive. The Road Rover will emphasise extreme luxury — the huge success of the current S-Class has proved that SUVs have not pushed super-luxury saloon cars out of the market — and it is also expected to have height-adjustable suspension for a degree of all-terrain ability. A range of at least 300 miles is predicted, as well as a 0-60mph time of under 5.0sec. JLR has to compete head-on with premium-brand rivals such as Porsche and Audi, which are both launching luxury EVs in the next two years. Perhaps the closest rival to the new Road Rover is Audi’s E-tron Sportback, which is due to be launched in 2019. This also has all-wheel drive and an expected driving range of 300 miles in ideal conditions. There is no hard news on whether the Road Rover will have its own stand-alone design language. However, it is likely to build on the look of the Velar, emphasising taut and very clean surfaces, and it will have more of a shooting brake profile than other high-end electric SUVs. The new XJ and Road Rover, along with Jaguar’s electric I-Pace compact SUV, will be part of JLR’s plan to meet stringent new Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) sales targets in California.
  5. http://www.forbes.com/markets/commodities/...6markets08.html http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/ford...D&dist=hplatest By MarketWatch Last update: 8:55 a.m. EDT March 26, 2008 TEL AVIV (MarketWatch) --Ford Motor Co. agreed to sell its Jaguar Land Rover operations to India's Tata Motors for $2.3 billion and will contribute as much as $600 million to the unit's pension plan. The Dearborn, Mich., auto maker had said in August that it would assess what to do with the brands as part of a focus on Ford as its core global brand. And in January it had named Tata -- a member of India's Tata Group conglomerate -- the preferred bidder for the operations. In a statement on Wednesday, Ford said it will continue to supply Jaguar Land Rover for differing periods with powertrains, stampings and other vehicle parts, in addition to a variety of environmental and platform technologies. Ford also committed to provide engineering support, including research and development, plus information technology, accounting and other services. And Ford Motor Credit will provide financing for Jaguar and Land Rover dealers and customers during a transition of as long as a year, depending on the market. The two sides said that when the deal closes, they don't expect "any significant changes to Jaguar Land Rover employees' terms of employment." Ford's statement said that it has kept Jaguar Land Rover's workers and unions, as well as the U.K. government, apprised of the sale process. They have "indicated their support for the agreement," Ford said. Subject to conditions including regulatory clearances, Ford and Tata http://www.marketwatch.com/tpx/storyquotetip.tpx?random=0.2796206737778025TTM 17.12, -0.24, -1.4%) expect to close the deal in the first half. Ford shares were up 2.3% in premarket trading, while Tata shares slipped 2.7%.
  6. Dis f**ker! I was on the 1st lane of a 3-lane road during peak hour, the left lane being the bus lane. I needed to make a left turn in about less than 100m, so I have to make a switch to the 2nd lane first. The lanes were all packed with slow moving vehicles. I signalled my intention to switch to the 2nd lane. Found the gap beside me opening, checked the rear view mirror, a grey landrover was about 2 car lengths away. Was thinking, hmm this kind soul, so nice and patient to let me switch lane. I confirmed all clear.. and made the switch. When i was 3/4 into the lane, dis f**ker sped up and started honking like rushin to hell! And while honking, he swerved into the bus lane and sped past me! Knn wat the fark! He opened the gap.. I was 3/4 into the lane, then he pulled such stunt! My natural reaction was shocked and swerved back to my lane. Luckily the car behind me did not attempt to pass me as i still got part of my car length in the 1st lane.. I made another attempt to switch again, dis time to 2nd then to dotted bus lane. F**ker still turned and looked at me! He's worse than most cabbies! Damn it's really tough trying not to curse and swear! I really hope he burns in hell! Just need to vent some frustration! and GBB13XX.. hope I dun see you around again..
