A friend of mine due to some reasons have loss a hefty sum from properties in the past. The properties were forced sell hence resulting in hardship . He managed to get by for years by getting credit lines and credit cards to pay for the loss, he has since reduced the debt to about 200K. Whatever he has earned go to paying the credit lines through monthly instalment. He told me that he is just 36 months away from being debt free. However, his current company is folding up due to current market situation hence he is extremely depressed . There is only so much that I could lend it to him in the past. At his age, if he is being retrenched, he is unlikely to even get 1/3 of what he is getting now. This is sad but a true case. I wonder whether to declare bankrupt is a better choice for him . So wonder what is the best course of action that we could advise him. I heard that there are some debt consolidation firms that could help him, anyone has experience working with them? Are there any free public bodies that he can seek advice and to help him with the hardship? By the way, I'm seeking constructive advice here please don't give nasty remarks . Thank you very much for being considerate. Regards,

As reported in ESPN Scoccernet :- "England's Euro 2008 hopes - and possibly Steve McClaren's job - rest in the hands of Israel after Russia completed an astonishing comeback win at the Luzhniki Stadium tonight. Russia are now only two points behind England with a game in hand. Croatia are already virtually through so if Russia can win in Israel next month, with only part-time Andorra to play in their final match, it is they who are likely to go on to the finals in Austria and Switzerland." Was watching the match live on TV and was disappointed with the way England play against the Russian. Steve McClaren must be blinded to field 3 lion shorties against the Russian giant defence. Strikers : The 3 shorties are :- Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen and Shaun Wright-Phillips. All the long balls to them were pluck out of the air by the Russian T34 (defenders) except the one and only one that escape the defenders resulting in W Rooney goal. Only at the 78 minutes marks and Russian are leading 2-1 that Steve McClaren realised that he had a "Bean Pole" with him and thereby where he made use of it. It was only Peter Crouch introduction that all the high balls were won by him but it too late. Midfielders : The so called Zizou (Joe Cole) was lost in no man land . Running aimlessly all over the Russian artificial pitch resulting S. Gerard & Gareth Barry working overtime. The introduction of Frank Lampard & Stewart Downing together with P Crouch in the 78 minutes does see some control in the midfield but its too late . Defenders : The British Centurion tanks are absorbing all the fire power of the T34 (Russian Strikers & midfielders) and with 8 Centurions inside the penalty area, the T34 manage to bulldose through. . Many of times, 2 lions were seen going for the same ball in the air. . So if Russia beat Israel (away) in the next match and against the part-timers of Andorra at home, England can say goodbye to Euro 2008. no England, next year Euro not much of a fun. . England has a very slim chance of qualifying and lets pray that they are able to make it through (with the help of Israel, only to draw with Russia). As I have said in other threads (the one on Zizou), the England manager is not up to the mark as one of the top EPL managers. Very fickle minded as shown in the begining when he drop Beckham and later recall Beckham again.
