Hi all

Am currently looking into Copen.. Had registered myself in the Club Copen Singapore forum sometime back, but have not had the chance to meet up with you guys. Can anyone help to verify my account? Am also looking forward to meeting you guys and learning more about this car.

Sincere thanks!

Hi Austin, to get into the forum, you need to come for the meet up to be verified in. I do weekends night meet for supper & kopi usually. If you don't mind you can PM me your contact so I can SMS you details of the meet up for this weekend. ^_^

get the auto. manual is kinda pointless for the copen unless u are gonna mod the crap out of it.

Auto and manual both fun and both can have good performance gains. Just see which one you prefer. Heeheeee... [sly]

the manual box for the copen isnt one like even a normal civic, light throw and feels flimsy. Hated it when i had it.

It's a mini gearbox attached to 659cc engine. Don't expect a lot, but it still performs more than expected.

I would like to check with you guys on the maintenance of a Copen.

- How is the availability of various spare parts?

- Any known common problems?

Thanks!

Parts are easy to find, being a Daihatsu means Toyota. Not a problem at all. Performance and cosmetic parts for Copen are not hard to find. Just that everything is from Japan and it is pricey. Haven't heard of Copen having common problems, but got a few Copen had their turbo blown, but reasons due to the usual, negligence (engine oil not changed on time, hot shutdown, etc). There's a UK Copen with 660 motor did 190,000km and still going strong. ^_^

pivot(blue or purple)voltage stabilizer vs power charger ??

What is best for copen?

Please advise

IMO, both don't work. No performance gain whatsoever. More like a cosmetic item in your engine bay.
