Sarong1 1st Gear December 20, 2006 Author Share December 20, 2006 I will be bringing some of my CD collection for sales exclusive to MCF and MCF ICE members. Because some of these CDs are my good old collection and has been well taken care of, I certainly hope that the next owner continues to treasure it. Prices range between $10 to $50. Strictly no testing please, this is the common practice as with gramophone, cash converters and any other cheap buys shop.
Tazster_t Neutral Newbie December 21, 2006 Share December 21, 2006 Just bought this CD: Ray Sings Basie Swings. Fantastic recording of Ray Charles. Soulful and the orchestra plays a fine accompaniment to Ray.
Sarong1 1st Gear December 21, 2006 Author Share December 21, 2006 How will you describe the quality of the press? Cheers!
Tazster_t Neutral Newbie December 21, 2006 Share December 21, 2006 Personally, this is a simply amazing recording and technical feat. Ray Charles & Count Basie Orchestra NEVER performed together. This is a blend of both their recordings to make them sound like they were on the same stage... and it works! For those Ray fans... you would be familiar that his recordings sometimes can be a bit muddy .. but not this one. His voice stands out and the overall clarity is almost like a Sheffield recording. This recording was done in 2006, after Ray passed away. A fitting tribute to the man.

Sarong1 1st Gear December 29, 2006 Author Share December 29, 2006 I have always enjoyed shopping for CDs in HongKong simply because the CD collections there are much better than Singapore. I can't really vouch for the price there but the find is really worth it. Here is a list of CD shops that can guide you if you happen to be around HK. On top of these shops, I am also recommending to you a shop called "Disc Plus" in Times Square 9th floor. I especially like the collection and mood there, the staff is really helpful. Not forgetting CD warehouse (which happen to be in Times Square at Basement 1) that has a wide collection of domestic CDs plus a handful of audiuophile grade CDs. Remember to info me should you go to HK and intend to get CDs there, I may need your help to get some LPs back...can..boleh??? Kaiserdome 1st Gear December 30, 2006 Share December 30, 2006 Hi guys, has been a while since I last visited this thread. Kudos sarong1 and the rest of the audiophiles for making this thread so successful I made a rare visit to NDV this afternoon wanting to get a CD which has guitar sounds. I wanted some background music for video and presentations, something smoothing. Boss recommended this: Breathe: The Relaxing Guitar Label: Telarc Being a noob with guitar sounds, although the tracks sounds pretty smoothing, my first impression is that the recording quality is not of the highest quality. Sounds quite muffled and I need to raise the volume of my stock headset to satisfy my hearing. Pardon my poor knowledge. Can anyone recommend another guitar CD? Prefer something more uplifting and acoustic this time. Maybe Spanish guitar? This one is too relaxing IMHO ↡ Advertisement
