Sarong1 1st Gear March 4, 2007 Author Share March 4, 2007 Oh yes...it really brings back god memories. Some of the tracks are still very relevant today for our ICE man to validate their tok kong system...what other tracks do you think are marvellous for ICE? ↡ Advertisement
Tazster_t Neutral Newbie March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 Tracks as in tracks in the Michael Jackson 'Epic'? Actually, most folks feel that MJ is a lame CD for showcasing audio.. but I feel tat's wrong, he has some of the best arrangements and some tracks are very good in testing midbass accuracy. Like track 'Who is it?' & "Billie Jean'. There're subtle changes in midbass and subbass tones. For folks who prefer uncoloured sound, you should also be able to pick up the emotion coming from MJ in 'Man in mirror' 'leave me alone' 'heal the world'. Simply love 'rockin robin' track..done when he was in jackson 5... classic.. Now, just bought 'Daughtry' by Chris Daughtry, botak american idol from last season who has a good rock voice... can't say if its a good album to evaluate.. but his voice is simply woohoo!!! Tploh Clutched March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 (edited) Just want to share a jewel that I found from China ... Very soothing and extremely good recording that brings out a lot of details and soundstage. It has been in my CD player for months without being changed. Sarong1 1st Gear March 11, 2007 Author Share March 11, 2007 Yes, agreed with you that this CD from Sammy is indeed nice. The record is clean as well. MIC CDs are getting better, and at a fraction of the price of some more reputable labels.

Sarong1 1st Gear March 11, 2007 Author Share March 11, 2007 (edited) There is no reason to regret over language because Music by itself is a language. Norwegians are reputable for their world-renowned musicians. What you waiting for? Tomorrow I audit. Edited March 11, 2007 by Sarong1
Slidingturtle Neutral Newbie March 18, 2007 Share March 18, 2007 hee hee... try to do some contribution too. myself not too much into audiophile recordings.. first love still with chill out and deep house... so here's a few of my recent likings to recommend.. chill out Jet Set Montecarlo - smooth chill, easy evening listening, sipping a cold drink, or crusing on the expressway esp track 2, 9, 20 MUSeUM - Euterpe - chillout with quite a thumping beat for something that is a little faster and a little more groovy to get those hips swaying hard to pick the tracks as the album is pretty well put together Living on the Edge (by stephane pompougnac) from the man so closely associated with this genere... (caveat.. quite a few tracks in album is in french) likes tracks 5,7,12 house fabriclive 30 - station warriors heehee... this album is also capable of giving your sub a fairly good workout. the mixes are strong, muscular, deep... more like a good whisky as opposed to a martini... likes tracks 2,3,6 harley & muscle present Addicted to House 5 - fairly smooth house music, can just play it at the background and unwind.. finally.. a chinese vocal My life will... by zhang xuan quite a departue from the crowded teeny-popper singing some variety of a love song scene, this young singer writer is one that walks her own path (against quite a few odds). acoustic guitar, drum set, a soulful voice.. simplistic beauty at its finest.. likes track 5, 7 well, that's for now.... Boring Neutral Newbie March 19, 2007 Share March 19, 2007 (edited) Here's the ghost CD some people are talking about. Senhora da Lapa Maria Ana Bobone: voice Joao Paulo Esteves da Silva: piano Ricardo Rocha: portuguese guitar on tracks 5, 8, 10 Peter Epstein: sax on tracks 2, 6, 8 Short info about this album here http://www.marecordings.com/main/product_i...&products_id=69 This is a portuguese album. This is recorded in a cathedral. Those who have already audition a few songs had problem locating the singer. Here's what I found after listening at home. Singer is standing at different position in almost every song. So If your TA is not right then she'll be a ghost. She's also not facing the "audience" (us) so her mouth might grow sideways instead of bigger? Challenging tracks for ICE. FYI... there's only 1 piano... hehe... might sound like there's a few pianos in car! As usual, typical top notch recording from M+A recordings. Alain_er Neutral Newbie March 23, 2007 Share March 23, 2007 Sorry guys, have been away from this forum for way too long. I believed the author of this thread posted "CD Reviews : Your favorite CD and WHYyou like it" So far, except for a few, most of the guys did not explain what's so good about the CD that they like. Perhaps a particular Cd track number # has a clear voice, nicely executed strength on percussion and so on.. comon' read the thread title. Sorry if it's a bit offensive. Just wan everyone who's reading this thread to really benefit with the information shared. PS: Sarong1 : Seldom see you post thread liao.. what happened? retire? Root Neutral Newbie June 17, 2007 Share June 17, 2007 Each of us has test or demo CDs that we prefer to use over the others whenever we come to assessing or auditing audio system both at home and in car audio. Most of us should be very familiar with demo CDs from Focal No.3, Chesky
Sarong1 1st Gear June 18, 2007 Author Share June 18, 2007 You can still get some copies of Focal No.5 at New Disc Village in Adelphi (Ernest) and some Focal No.6 at Sembawang Music Centre in Plaza Sing. You can approach X-Audio at Bukit Timah Plaza for some samples of this Usher CD, talk to Ryan or Swee. Feel free to ask if you are still in doubt. Root Neutral Newbie June 18, 2007 Share June 18, 2007 What is the difference between focal no.5 and focal no.6? In your opinion, which will be the better take? X-audio i'm not a customer of theirs and i wonder if they will entertain me or not
Sarong1 1st Gear June 18, 2007 Author Share June 18, 2007 The more popular one will have to be Focal No.3 series but I doubt you can find any in S'pore. Last check in HMV HK was that they were selling at about $50 at least. Focal NO.6 would be my preferred one. You don't have to be their customer to get one, they are very nice people, just ask for a copy and perhaps get some CDs from them as well (they do sell some MIC CDs). Spinworkx Clutched June 18, 2007 Share June 18, 2007 There are 2 focal disc on sale at Sembawang Millenia Walk. One if the Focal No6 and the other had no number on it so i dunno which one. Each is about $40+...they also have quite a few XRCDs and other demo discs there...
Sarong1 1st Gear June 18, 2007 Author Share June 18, 2007 Great info, but be aware of the Focal CDs, I got this feeling they are imported from China. Chk before committing, I think NDV is selling at about $30+ for the Focal No 6. ↡ Advertisement
