Yttrium Neutral Newbie February 6, 2003 Share February 6, 2003 Wow.. a kerb can do that? You must have very low profile tyres? I'm still wondering what my wheel hit in malaysia... vibration isn't that bad at all but I noticed some of the lacquer has come off and the lead weight is missing ↡ Advertisement

Throttle Neutral Newbie February 10, 2003 Share February 10, 2003 Hi to correct side slip you will need to go for camber adjustment but for steering vibration, it is a matter of wheel balance. Clearly if your steering vibrates, your contact with the ground is "imperfect" so get wheels rebalanced.
Saaber Neutral Newbie February 10, 2003 Share February 10, 2003 Sometimes, it could be the suspension rubber bushing....
Yttrium Neutral Newbie February 11, 2003 Share February 11, 2003 Well one way to discern between the two is to see if it occurs at all speeds or only within a certain speed range. Wheel imbalance is usually most obvious at about 90-110km/h.

SDK 1st Gear June 25, 2013 Share June 25, 2013 (edited) Friends, I had this problem. I could feel strong vibration on my steering wheel while going over 100 KMPH [2500rpm] and I got it fixed through wheel balancing. However there has been another issue. 1. I can hear vibrating/grinding noise (but no vibration felt at all) in low gears 2. Example, moving from 1 to 2 till 3, exactly at 2000rpm. Not below or above that 3. Noise arises only when the acceleration is gradual and go to 2000rpm. No problem if I do hard acceleration or if I keep the rpm below 2000. Anyone faced this or similar issue? Please advise. Vehicle - Hyundai Avante Thanks. Edited June 25, 2013 by SDK

Years ago I had the same problem with my mazda 323.. turn out to be the air con compressor belt worn out (hardened due to age) and caused the pulley bearings to worn out.
