Hey bro glad to hear you managed to remove the scratches [;)] , you should be able to get a better result with ScratchX instead of the polish (system 2). But if you are already happy with the result than can forget about ScratchX [:p] .

I can understand the kind of feeling of a new ride kena swirls and scratches...heart pain sia [sweatdrop]

congrats on yr new ride.

i'm afraid the swirls marks are not done by you. if you take a closer look at the swirls in your first photo, they are circular in nature. the circular swirls are also very consistent in pattern and they seem to radiate from the brightest spot on the body.

this 'damage' is very common and the culprit is none other the professional polisher who are contracted by your seller before delivery to you.

the 'typical' professional polisher has a lot of cars to churn out for the agents who are under pressure to deliver on time.

the process of pre delivery inspection or PDI is usually a quick wash down and then a polish with heavy duty rotary (gulp!). and no, they don't clean or change a new polishing pad for every car they polish! so just imagine all the nice dirt, grit and dried compound, grinding into your nice new clearcoat on the paint. this explains the consistentency of the swirls, which cannot be done by hand. to hide the desercration, a wax is applied to hide the imperfections. hence after a few weeks, the wax wears off, and wala! looks a professional figure ice skater had a party on yr car!

however, all is not lost as you can repair it yrself if you have the time and energy. suggest you do a search on this forum or go to autopia forum for DIY instructions on removing swirls.

cheers!

hehe Ok..can't really examine it during pick-up car time....too eager to drive off...hahaha.

I went to Stamford near Jurong, can't find the Scratch X but i saw KLIZZ Clear R from fusso. Is it good? cost S$18.00. seems like need to wait till overnight...english instruction sound like a bit funny.

I will wash my car this weekend and examine the condition before i plunge to something time consuming. Will wait until mid nov to do the swirl/clay/polish/sealant/wax when i am on leave.... [sunny].

Kizz Clear R beahves as a filler. It hides the scratches.

ScratchX is a mild abrasive. It removes the scratches.

What you hide will show up again once the filler is gone. What you remove, is gone forever :)

Using an abrasive compound will obviously thin down your clear coat a bit, so you'll want to use it judiciously ;)

Took out my bottles of Meguiar polish (system 2) and wax (system 3) and started to take out the scratches.. It was hard work but the scratches were slowly but surely being removed!

Hmm Meg #2 Polish is a glaze/ "oil", not abrasive or intended to remove scratches [lipsrsealed]

I would have live with it....anyway, if this is a new car, then you might just want to paint it. Know of some car panel beaters/painters changing like S$100 or less for the bumper. You can try the west part of SIngapore, like Pioneer Industrial Estate where overheads are cheaper. Said this something ago and a map was attached, it is the first turn after Bird park along AYE.

That's a Nissan Sunny?

My guess is that it shd cost no more than S$200 to resray the affected parts since no knocking is required.
