BMW320i Neutral Newbie November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 (edited) Pardon me whats "Che" ? For your info my 320 is stock. My other car isn't. And on the record, I'm not slaming you and honestly I don't know what made you feel you were being slammed and neither was I laughing at you. On the contrary, please note that a person paying a high price on a luxury car does not equate to that of a similar price of a performance vehicle. Just out of curiosity purposes, do you know what variables make up for your 0-100 timings ? May I know what equipment, driver, testing conditions you were using and whats your sample size ? Gexer Neutral Newbie November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 owner drive. i time with stop watch. road condition is just a striaght road. now he has braking problem. as he is in AT, he cant drop gear to turn, so he has to pull handbrake to corner. for my, my braking distance is longer than before. have to engine brake in 2nd. 3rd also cannot brake much. i wont say it is superb gain. but the torque improved. low end and mid is good. Yc86 Clutched November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 (edited) hey bros.... relax.... probabaly gexer got offended by ur 'STFU'... alittle harsh IMHO.. anw.. yah there are alot of factors that go into ur 0-100 timings... like wind, pressure, OAT (outside air temp)... car's weight, (inc fuel amt, spare tyre, ICE, other accessories, driver's weight), car's tyres, drag coef (bodykits, spoilers, grills, fog lamps..) fuel used.. also the road conditions (type of road (tarmac, etc), gradient of slope, elevation( ht above sea level)....... so can't expect everyone to include all these errors inside.. which will probably add a couple of miliseconds to the timing? not running precision race also mah.. where every milisecond counts X the no. of laps will give you a couple of seconds = 1st or second place just a 'for fun' way of comparing cars.... Gexer Neutral Newbie November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 that why. why slam ppl right? he dun have LTA to face, we have leh. he can swop engine like nobody business. anyway. i know there are a lot of factors when we do timing. but like you said it. we are city driver. but the owner tested, he felt a lot of low end improve. thats more than enough. i am very sure that his low improve very much
Yc86 Clutched November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 hehe... could be. i didn't 'pop' the clutch so no wheel spin... just release till clutch full off then go full sometimes i find auto faster cos there's no lag in gear shift..... or my throw is just too long. btw i suppose the vios used the 1, 2, D to shift instead of D all the way? BMW320i Neutral Newbie November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 A difference of 0.5 secs does not equate to performance gains. Your variables and Manufacturer's variables are 2 different thing. Whats worst is that its a stop watch. Your margin of error is way too big to even conclude performance gains. And no, I wasn't slaming you but rather urging you to get your facts right. Chill out yeah
Gexer Neutral Newbie November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 thats my dream too bro. garage in the house. somemore can do own bodykit.
Gexer Neutral Newbie November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 dude, by your this statement. i can take your advise. i know the difference is great. but here in our country, we cannot play cars as you guys. we have to much laws to obey. we just try to get our timing consistance by using the same stop watch. from the same road in the same time. so to minimised the difference. i know the facts just that we cannot afford to get it dyno and such. all plian butt dyno by the owner
Spade Neutral Newbie November 14, 2005 Share November 14, 2005 yah I agree, I drive in both countries, SG is backward when it comes to performance mods because of the stupid compulsory vehicle inspections. the most we can enjoy is changing the filter intake CAI and so forth, any mods to the engine like turbo, supercharger, even changing tailpipe is considered illegal. SG is a "wayang" country, most of the mods that keep the drivers happy here are the pimp my ride things like ICE, stickers and paint jobs. Look fierce but really no fierce. Everything very surface level. Depth is apparently missing across the board due to social engineering process by the "fathers" of the nation, they control everything the possibly can, right down to the water in the sky - that's right, it is illegal to collect water in pails from your house roof! breathing is free, the air is free but tainted with heavy chemicals from the western part of singapore. Likewise the breathing of your car's engine is also ok to due and isn't illegal. Assisted breathing, yes... because you have to pay hospital bills for that sort of thing. Spade Neutral Newbie November 14, 2005 Share November 14, 2005 mythmos, you have open pod, to get back low end need to do CAI+ heatshielding. simple solution, not that easy to carry out. ↡ Advertisement
