Hankook Tire is tested localy by ourseve instead of just getting info from international review as road condition, humidity is all different...like many people here love looking into US tyre test....mind you different state is US have quiet a difference in opearating condition....ENJOY DRIVING

These tyres are supposed to be summer tyres right? So operating temperatures should be similar to our weather, maybe humidity is different.

He is fine. his car suffer minor dents.

i consider it expensive in the sense that its korean made and the fact that i could buy other jap made tyre at a cheaper price or other cheaper korean/taiwan alternatives.

A couple of mths back when i'm still considering V8 among some other tyres such as kumho KU31, falken ST115 etc. a friend of mine asked me and i told him V8 is worth a try if he doesn't mind the slightly higher price. he took my suggestion and get the V8 (its was called Blackbird V2). barely 2 weeks after the change, his tyre skidded and had an accident.

he called and asked me how come V8 so lousy, i also dunno wat to tell him.

i take into account his experience plus my initial thinking tat V8 was was not cheap, i decide to give it a miss.

thanks, I didn't know that that is comparable to the Advan Sport. I thought the RS2 is quite good already. I had an E-brake situation when a taxi cut turned right at traffic light and I was going straight. ABS, Brakes, Tires all came into play. Super grip, and thank goodness I miss that fella. I really was pissed and wanted to give him a piece of my mind, and maybe some fist too... but I choose too cool down.. don't want to do anything stupid.

Can PM me the pricing for 225/45/17 for the S1Evo?

Since you brought up T1R, how's the performance?

Is it on par with AD07 or more to the range of BS GR80 and hankook V8 RS? [:)]

i just fitted the rs-2 and have done only 50km but i was in a foul mood while driving today so the tires got a minor work out... performed well. initial impressions are that the level of dry grip is comparable, if not better, than the bridgestone re-050a and eagle f1. definitely miles better than bridgestone gr80, but a bit unfair to compare since the gr80 was designed with comfort in mind.

no chance to try it on wet roads but will be taking it to the track in sept. hopefully they won't let me down.

at the end of the day, imho, most tires within the same price bracket and performance rating perform within 95% of each other. what determines whether i go back to a shop for the tires or not is the service provided and with that, i must say that robert was most accomodating, given my rather unusual requests, and the service staff was friendly and attentive.

although i prefered to stand around the bay and watch them work on my car, when i went up to pay, i was most impressed with the lounge area. nice setup with a clean and neat service bay plus comfy waiting area.

as a minor point to add, they accept amex cards, despite the promotional pricing, which is nice. i'm quite put off by those small time tire shops which don't accept credit cards for promotional sales or only want visa/mastercard.

Personally havn't tried the toyo. Some official reviews are not so kind to it, but many forums' reports are favourable though. Their price is also on the high side ($190 for 17in) . If a tad lower , dont mind trying actually.

A good and affordable made in Japan tyre to try is Firestone Wide Oval. Essentially Firestone is owned by Bridgestone so similar technology and this is FS's highest range already. thumbsup.gif

$190 for a 17inch is quite ok liao..

If it's on par with GR80, their 16inch is already 160 per piece. There's always a big jump in price from 16 to 17inch.

Maybe those on my radar are the cheaper ones. laugh.gif

17in GDS3 made in germany ~ $170 (16in is only like $15 cheaper unimpressed.gif)

17in Firehawk Wide Oval made in Japan ~ $165

I think some tyres are more ex becoz of brand, esp Michelin, Toyo, Bridgestone ...
