Sotong_kia Neutral Newbie July 11, 2006 Author Share July 11, 2006 (edited) Well, I don't worship my car, but since this is an expensive piece of equipment, I think "proper" care of equipment on my part is just part of the ownership.. As I am no expert in cars, I can't tell from the sound of the suspension if it is just something that needs oiling, or really something is going to come apart and I might loose a wheel while cruising down the highway (Trust me, I have SEEN rim+tyre coming off a car right in front of me. And the car is not < 5 years old.) I know my uncle that drove his car (I dunno how old the car was) until the main SHAFT BROKE. Guess different strokes for different folks. Based on your postings, you seem a expert, so I shall not question that. But I am not.. I buy my own engine oil from Carrefour. I wanted the noisy suspension done becos it is under warranty. But though it is, I dun "take it for granted" and when people solve the problem, I remember to thank them. It is the lowly paid mechanic that solved the problem for me, not the blood sucking dealership boss. So as the chinese saying goes, I will take out my vengence on the right person. I like to keep my car clean, just like how I like to keep my house clean. I sit there and I drive it, and get stuck in jams. I want to be in comfort. If you can live with watever u have in ur car, fine with it. I do not care about dents and scratches made by other people who open their doors too hard. But I do not drive recklessly or carelessly just so that I can prove the lamp post is harder than my bumber. I still get people to clean my car, cos I dun like dirty doors, getting my clothes all dirty, or making my hands dirty. (Yeah, maybe I am just a clean-freak.) Cabin noise has been reduced by at least 50%. Why ? cos now I have to turn down my radio volume down by 2 notches. I agree with the oil change part and the time they take though. And yes, I fully agree we never get to own our cars..Just like our houses.. Got noise , kick it ? Remember the joke about the doctor-turned washing machine repair man ? That the bulk of the charge comes from "knowing WHERE to kick it". Unfortunately, I don't know.. Osiris 1st Gear July 12, 2006 Share July 12, 2006 to me, there's a difference between saying thanks for the service received and compliments. I have no qualms saying thanks after receiving a service but it is that something extra to give them a compliment. If not, many MCFers will post compliments after their servicing. Cbx750p 1st Gear July 12, 2006 Share July 12, 2006 Yeah...but remember, the simple "thanks for the good job done" to the simple mechanic or Service Advisor would make some people day much more enriching ! Nevertheless, no all people think like you. There are those who take it that since that they are being paid, why the h@ll should they be thanked ! Like I said, a job well done deserves a good pat on the shoulder ! A shobby job, a kick in the ar$e ! CBX

Mlksh Neutral Newbie December 30, 2006 Share December 30, 2006 Are you sure they are that good? My 2 weeks old car went for repair of paint work and when it was back, extra dent and scratch on my car. The service lan lan have to repair it ofr me. As I also complain abt my suspension knocking sound, i was told they only work half day on saturday nad have no tie for repair. Have to make a lot of noise asking them to be responsible should it endangerous my life then they will to resolve it. Ask me to wait for 2 weeks before thet will take a look. What kind of service is this? Don't even bother to check when the collect the car from the spray paint workshop in Defu lane. I am going to the spray apint workshop together with the service manager on Thursday and will let you guys know the quality of the workshop. If not good, I will call gereral motor to make noise. Yeobh 4th Gear December 30, 2006 Share December 30, 2006 All these is due to very thin profit margin ,low sales volume, high operating cost and poorly trained mechnics. They much either move the profit margin up or the sales volume up or the next logical step is closed shop and all retire for good. Mlksh Neutral Newbie December 30, 2006 Share December 30, 2006 Sales will definately improve if the put themself in the shoes of car owner. Service their car as if it belong to them. This is the standard i set for my customer. if you cannot accept, don't expect other to accept. Don't keep telling your customer other dealer also don't have this and don't have that. Why not tell your customer other don't have we do. Think General Motor better change the agent to other dealer so we can have a better change of getting a better service. I ready have enought with Starsauto when they repair my paint work.
Victor68 Turbocharged January 25, 2007 Share January 25, 2007 I wish to share here that as car owner, we have our fair share of problems with the respective workshop when our car encounter problems. Whether it is Jap or European car, most do not have any major issue. So, what I am trying to say here is, I don't think there is any major issue with StarsAuto. If I have any 'complaint', it is that they have only 1 single workshop in Ubi. Alexandra does minor serivcing. Yes, my optra after 1.5 years has minor noise from the grove compartment, last month the famous faulty fuel guage which they replaced free, plus the horn which I didn't notice because I never use free too. My car seems to stall when idling now and I will be seeking their assistance. Like human, every car encounter minor problems now and then. The first 3 years is usually problem free. That is why warranty is 3 years or 100Km. I won't say StarsAuto is great but neither will I say the same for others here. Anyone has any special mention for a particular brand or service agent? Do compare apple to apple otherwise $$$$$ make the world goes round.
Darth_mel 1st Gear January 25, 2007 Share January 25, 2007 (edited) I understand what u mean, bro. The car is suppose to serve us, not the other way round. Same can to said of the MIWs. Edited January 25, 2007 by Darth_mel
Ghostrider 3rd Gear January 25, 2007 Share January 25, 2007 Kah Motor will get my vote for good service. Under warranty if there is a issue with the car, they will solve it. Maybe if its a complicated problem or funny one they may take a while. EG, my cat convertor heat shield was making a chirpping sound...they found that out after a few visit...but still the solve it for me. My gearbox up lorry also they replace for me FOC. If there is a reason for me to get another Honda....its their aftersales service. (hell...even after the sales girl left Kah Motor and join Malayan Motor...she still send me x'mas cards !!...Too bad I no standard to buy a Jag yet.) Victor68 Turbocharged January 30, 2007 Share January 30, 2007 While it is great to hear you have received good service from Kah Motor, I am sure some frustrated car owners out there can share those unhappy experiences they encountered with you too. At the end of the day, as motorists, we hope one day all service agent can maintain a certain standard here in Singapore. With more competition, I am sure they either brush up or move out
Ghostrider 3rd Gear January 30, 2007 Share January 30, 2007 I am sure there are unhappy customers with them too...can't please everyone. It depends on individual threshold for good service too. Maybe I am easy to please while some are harder to please... I think I am a fairly reasonable guy...so if I say the service sucks...it should be quite bad liao. Victor68 Turbocharged May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 My car was due for the 40K servicing and initially I planned not to go to Starsauto due to cost. After 2nd thought, if is better since it is technically still under warranty. I didn't go for full 40K servicing but choose normal oil change, etc. However, I mentioned that there is sound coming from my front brake whenever I am caught in a traffic jam for a long time. This happen when I am caught in the custom jam for more than half hour. Otherwise normal driving I don't hear it. Starsauto reverted that it is due to worn bake pad and advise it should be replaced. I agree and they proceeded. However, I still got this noise the next day when I drove up to Johore! I almost wanted to write in but Starsauto called me to enquire if the problem is resolved!!!! I told him the noise is still there and he offered that I drive in to test. Although the problem should have been fixed in the first place, the fact they do a follow up call is something I didn't expect. Not to give them too much credit now. Lets see if they can resolve my noise problem.
Thrillman Neutral Newbie May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 (edited) Ya agreed totally. Many A times everyone thinks that the workshop like to hold on your car , it would just be any agent's piriority to "fix it and get out". It's never easy to get the car fix esp with regards to those"" got funny noise here, got funny noise there issue", very subjective problem. ........ glad your problem was solved. But imho, there's nothing to compliment about. It's suppose to be their basic responsibility to do so. Edited May 28, 2008 by Thrillman
