Frm wad I heard, some overseas market loved SG cars as they find SG cars are so well maintain, excellent engine & paintwork. It's like buyin a new car at discounted rate [laugh]

Hi ! Kapitane.

 

I do not agreed with you that traffic in Singapore is better then the rest of the country.

 

You have mentioned all the Capitor city of our neigbouring country: Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila and Kuala Lumpur. This is not a fair comparision. You can speed like mad at the outskirt of these country but not in Singapore. Everywhere jammed :(

 

Car is too expensive in Singapore but we have no choice if we choose to stay put in Singapore.

 

One day, I took a Taxi to office by booking and I was shocked to learned that once I board the Taxi. The meter read S$4.00 (Booking Fees) + S$2.00 (Peak Hour) + S$2.50 (Meter Start) ==> Total S$8.50 before the Taxi move. Once I reached my office, I paid S$22.50 :( Damn bloody crazy :( The distant between my house to office is about 25KM only.

just happened to find out this portal for car export from spore...

can search for specifc car models and even can see chasiss nos....

 

you will find out how cheap cars really are when they are exported out of spore.....

 

2003 civic is only selling for $12k - $14k

 

2004 getz only selling for $6k-7k

how much is the profit margin for these export dealers? any 1 knows how to calculate?

2003 - 2004 vios selling for $14.5k - $15k [sweatdrop]

 

fetch better car value than civic... no wonder some forumers mentioned about the high body value of vios.... [lipsrsealed] dun flame me.. [:)]

Kap did the right comparison. why because all of sg is urban or extra urban, look at KL and the surrounding areas (like PJ, Mt Kiara, etc.) they all have bad traffic during normal hrs.

 

As for taxi prices... don't complain. We've got it good for all our public transport. that distance in any other developed nation would be closer to SGD$60 and above for a taxi.

you know why??? because KM has overinflated the price of the civics..

 

actually only the stealerships for nissan, renault, peugeot, vw, skoda, and a few others use prices in line with other countries.

 

KM, BM, and whoever sells opel are the worst for overinflated car prices.

If I remember correctly, I was once told, there is a high demand for Vios in Bangladesh or some 3rd world country, and thus the high body value.

ya... but i am surprised that body value is even higher than somewhat more expensive cars like city, civic and etc... [:)]

 

then good, after 3 years can export, and buy new ride... see how.. since this ride's loan is only 2 yrs... [:)]

I am not correct in comparing the capital cities of the neighbouring countries.... err, could you name some capital cities I should compare Singapore with.

 

Did you realise that you can speed like mad at Tuas, along Jln Ahmad Ibrahim, after Jurong Town Hall exit, the speed to exit and go into Pioneer Ave,...speed all the way with little traffic in you way, that is during rush hour.

 

Then you can also speed like hell after Bedok exit along the ECP towards airport....

 

Ehhh... I remember this morning my speedometer was showing 100-110 kmph along some stretch of the ECP while driving towards the city....

 

Anyway, some posters have already debunked you... I need not say more. [:)]

cos' we pay premium for our cars and we also pay premium to take good care of our babies. [smallcry]

 

I think only the sports cars like s15, rx-7 and evos don't really get dereg for export. I did a search in the website provided by the threadstarter. [sly]

I had a look on the website as well and I noticed that the prices they ask are basically the normal selling price (minus paper value of course). Actually, I found most cars to have a lower body value on sgcarmart. Probably thats caused by the way the business is run. It is a website like others for selling cars where dealer can advertise. It seems like they advertise there with the same price as they ask for a normal car, but like said, minus paper.

I was wondering whenever I ask a dealer how much my old car can fetch, they always ask how much outstanding loan I have. Does it really matter? Do they ask because they want to know how much profit margin to play with??
