I rather save the S$3000 and get the YOM 2005 model shd I decide to get it.

I underrstand that Nissan cars at the shipyard are kept under shelter, and not exposed to the rain, as what my SE told me. Is this true?

There is an immiediate $3k saving... furthermore, no matter wat, TC is going to give u 3 yr warranty... even if it is not bake in Singapore PSA, it might bake somewhere in Japan... if this is the last batch of YOM2005, then this should have bake somewhere under the sun (no matter Japan or Singapore) for the past 9-10 mths...

Normally TC will do checking before releasing to customer... i saw tat when i'm servicing in TC at Tuas... They will do inspection, waxing, and all sort of pre-sale inspection before handing the car to u...

i think at least Nissan cars are park at the PSA area... i saw a number unregister of Proton Gen2 park beside some heavy vehicle car park... if u drive along AYE towards Tuas after corporation road exit, u will know...

that is to say that YOM2005 can be considered as old cars? imagine a car left stagnant for 1 yr? assume its made in Sep 2005?

$3k discount for an "old" car... [:/] i dun know.. but $3k is not really alot to me... considering the car has been left untouched for 1 yr [jawdrop][shakehead]

mmz.. one year of difference.. that's alot to say. Its late Sept 2006 now... YOM 2005? [shakehead][shakehead][shakehead][shakehead]

if a car is left untouched for long period of time, would the electrical components spolit easily? the engine and etc? mechanical component?

Agree.

There are more than 5 Latio sedan/hatch for sales in sgcarmart. I am sure you can find some better deals.

Just for sharing, I bought my 1yr old Latio Premium at 50k, yearly dep is about 4.5k/yr not to mention my COE is 20k. mine is a SFT, April'05 registered.

As to the "higher" interest rate, I paid 3.75% for 7yrs as compared to 3.5% for same period on new car. Thats only 1.75% more for the whole 7yrs which amounts to be <$1000.

Take these July/Oct '05 Latio as an example. At S$51K, it costs S$3,000 less than the brand new YOM 2005 ... but it has clocked 29,000/19,000km, and the annual dep of S$4.7K is S$100 more than that of a brand new Latio. Warranty left 2 yrs, against a new Latio's 3 years warranty.

Which is a better buy? Brand new or 2nd hand?

Or this example. Why shd I pay S$54K for a 6 mth old Latio when I can get a brand new one at the same price.

Can you give us information on what are the minor changes between 2005 and 2006 models? I am one of those considering and the information will be useful to me. Thanks.

please join in ur toyota vios bashing... looks like people are making senseless remarks here...

VIT4WD HAS MENTIONED THAT THE LATIO WITH $3K DISCOUNT, YOM IS 2005..

2005?? ITS NEARLY OCT 2006 NOW.... AND NEARLY THE END OF 2006 AS WELL.

WOULD YOU CONSIDER THAT AS A NEW CAR?

IF SO, IT HAS BEEN LEFT IDLING FOR NEARLY ONE YEAR.. HOW CERTAIN ARE YOU SURE IT'S OKIE?

WE HEARD OF THE WARRANTY MATTERS, BUT LIKEWISE THE LEMONS TOO... WOULD YOU BUY A MADE IN 2005 CAR, WHEN 2006 IS NEARLY OVER... NO DOUBT ITS A NEW CAR, BUT BEEN LEFT IDLING FOR NEARLY 1 YR? mad.gif

IF YOU BOUGHT A NEW YEAR IN LATE 2005, WOULD U BUY IT AND LEAVE IT IDLING FOR ONE YEAR, ONLY TO DRIVE IN SAY SOME 9-12 MONTHS LATER? IN THIS CASE, IT TELL ME, WOULD YOU?? JUNSEL AND HUNTAN???

IF YOU WOULD, PLEASE CONTINUE TO BASH ME, ELSE WALK YOUR TALK.

my apologies for the CAPS. some people just dun get what i mean. me trying to be rational here but some people just like to harp.shakehead.gif

latioboy, read about ur previous thread on the FC thingee.. everything settled? actually latio is a good car... its interior is wow!! very spacious... not to mention, keyless entry, CVT engine and etc .. [thumbsup]

VIOS is very pale in comparison, is just a basic no frills, budget point A to B tomyam car.. but good enough. The rest can bash vios... but then before they bash... look if their car isn't a performance or more expensive car >$60+k, there isn't anything much to boast about.. [:p]
