Heard from somebodys chat [;)], Sylphy sales figure is not good since it was launched half year ago [sweatdrop], what is the reason?

Price high,

Latio reason,

Civic FD reason,

Underpower,

FC,

or.... [confused]

Not much advertising? I told my friend about Sylphy and he thought it was some sexually transmitted diease! [laugh]

Seriously though, ask around, I don't think many people even know this car existed.

think its size and dimensions are not really proportional. eg, compare the overall length vs the height vs the width of the car, i can't help feel that the width is squashed too much such that the height goes higher...

having a variant of the sylphy with the 1.5 litre engine doesnt actually makes sense when they got a better selling car of the same capacity - the latio. And so far, I have never seen a 2.0 litre sylphy. Personally I just feel the sylphy doesnt not have the presence of a 2 litre luxury sedan.

When it first launched, looking at its price, i predicted it will turn out to be like the primera, doesn't fit in nicely into any categories and will be eventually a niche car.

You sure? my neighbour is driving a 2.0L one. He trade-in his X-trail for Sylphy. A die-hard Nissan fan, only drive Nissan and nothing else.

Sylphy's failure has got to do with its

1. Name

2. High price

3. Unattractive looks of its rear

But the Sylphy scores in its huge interior space!

Latio may look unatttractive but its spacious interior, very attractive pricing (just slightly more than the older Sunny & Lancer) plus a new engine are its main selling points.

For a 2 litre nissan, i would rather get the cefiro.

Sylphy is rather spacious, but cannot beat the cefiro in size and accessories. Since paying so much for a 2 liter road tax, might as well get a more luxurious car. [;)]

one word UGLY

Nissan shld shoot all its designers, a 3 yr old kid can design better than tat

Cant understand y a company that can produce murano, fairlady can produce such utter trash designs like sylphy and latio and cefiro

Slyphy's proportions are a bit weird, giving a squashed up look.

I mean whats wrong with the nissan primeria and presea, they all look decent even many many yrs later then along comes latio ...

However spacious it is or the attractive pricing, I can't stand the box look. I gave it a miss and took sunny le with body kit instead.

Apart from all that's been said, there's also another reason. I think Nissan failed to identify with the market that it was intending to go after. Is the women? Is it the young family guy who is trying to decide whether to buy a FD or a Sylphy? Why drum brakes, for eg, compared to FD's disc brake setup?

And although people's already said it but I just gotta say it here again. Com'on...can't you come up with a better name than Sylphy, Nissan? unimpressed.gif

Did you notice that Nissan is increasing their sedan's interior space by growing taller?

Well,I don't find the car ugly...its really subjective...neither is Latio ugly.I'm not too sure about the sales but I do see quite a number of Sylphy on the road. But I do find the price a bit too steep...but it will come down soon, just like Latio
