Qooo Neutral Newbie November 20, 2006 Share November 20, 2006 Let's wait for the police to come up with a report of what actually happened. The only clues will have to come from the 3 surviving passengers. ↡ Advertisement
Maxus-MIFA9 Supersonic November 20, 2006 Share November 20, 2006 so far, never come accross any reports on newspaper after investigation on the cause of accident when the driver is dead. Only those driver(s)who cause death by accident and charged in court were reported in the news.

Felipe 3rd Gear November 20, 2006 Share November 20, 2006 gd point abt the speeding. anyway, regardless of horn, no horn, trying to avoid something, at 60kmh, the car cannot possibly end up like that. so let's rule out, trees, objects, horn as causes. Felipe 3rd Gear November 20, 2006 Share November 20, 2006 hullo. the tree cant move. and it is only 30cm wide. so all the energy is focused into 30cm of the car thats y cars wrap around trees. if he had buang into a wall. the wider wall will spread all the enrgy orver a much larger surface area, hence causing less dmg to the body of the car. So even slow speed crashes into thin immobile objects will cause lots and lots of dmg. imagine a)u walking into a knife and b) u walking into a wall. 2 different ouches right? hmm...so ure telling a car travelling at 60kmh banging into a tree can get mangled like this??? maybe NCAP should do a crash test on trees in future. Kb27 Supersonic November 20, 2006 Share November 20, 2006 It's possible. I always take the left hand turn from Ring Rd into Ave 4. If you chiong a little bit faster, you might hit the curb in the middle of road and bounce off into a tree.
Trex7764 Neutral Newbie November 20, 2006 Share November 20, 2006 Dun flame me, but interesting coincidence? Have you all noticed in recent years how Hondas just love to wrap themselves around trees?
Elfenstar 3rd Gear November 20, 2006 Share November 20, 2006 Looking at the crash and the angle, I suspect he fell asleep at the wheels. Like him, I once wrapped a tree coz I fell asleep at AMK Ave 3. Was not speeding at all. My entire face was smashed in literally. Car totalled. In hospital 1 month. Thats very lucky... a friend of mine didn't fare so well. He's a quadroplegic.

I've seen cars knock down lamposts and break through walls. I have never seen a car knock a tree down.... actually i've seen vehicles that are going at 60 in a much worse condition after hitting a tree. Honestly, roll cages are the way to go... Achtung 6th Gear November 21, 2006 Share November 21, 2006 Just some pics of the car I personally wrapped round tree. Note: I wasnt speeding.... but fell asleep. See how the steering wheel bent? It imprinted on my chest BTW. In 1990, Airbags were not in all cars. Mine doesnt have one. Look at the tree, its darn huge... only has its bark shaved. The damage is horrendous. Drive safe all. Rock Neutral Newbie November 21, 2006 Share November 21, 2006 Bro, thanks for sharing. The damanage looks bad, and thank god you are alright. Guess this shows it's not the make of car, but probably more the speed of impact. !!!
