I can't remember how is sunny behave but i have not try honda. Mazda also noisy mah? I tot Lancer and Honda Vtec quite noisy, and Sunny and Altis is queit, correct me, it i'm wrong
Boyboy 1st Gear December 9, 2006 Share December 9, 2006 Mazda engine is noticeably noisier than toyota or honda engine, from my experience (no need to drive it much, just sit in the car, start up and shift the car can liao) however, mazda is supposed to be sporty right? so the slightly louder sound is in order. of course, it may not be to everyone's liking. just look at the subarus, their boxer engine is noisy but no one complains car manufacturers spend a lot on market research. they know what customer they are targeting, and what the customers want. if u own a mazda and complain it's noisy, then u just bought the wrong car if u are a passenger and dun like, then too bad, the owner likes can liao. i'm not directing this at u, but speaking generally. replying to ur post since u are threadstarter
Cheekg98 1st Gear December 9, 2006 Share December 9, 2006 i think my older ride, lancer, is much more noisy than zoom zoom
Familymanz 3rd Gear December 9, 2006 Share December 9, 2006 lancer sound proofing is not tat good... even when new
Boyboy 1st Gear December 9, 2006 Share December 9, 2006 (edited) i think lancer the noise comes from everywhere.. for mazda, they probably soundproof engine a lil less or tune it such that u get a bit more engine noise. i believe such things are all engineered (within budget constraints of course). why do toyotas usually have an uninspiring buzz? edit: btw, i think the new lancer is pretty decent.. had a ride in one before. Azarael Clutched December 10, 2006 Share December 10, 2006 hey. South Africa and Thai Factories are pretty good okay ! i feel it is dependent on the brand - Mercedes built in south Africa have excellent build quality from 2006 onwards. The thai "legend" factory that builds Honda cars is top notch too in quality and same goes for Toyota. Local car makes don;t bother to properly insulate their entry level cars. just pop the bonnet and look at the lack of insulation !!!! Unless you buy a luxury make, high levels of Noise , Vibration and Harshness are likely to be present. my neighbour applied " silent " to his mazda 3 and it's just as quiet as a lexus at times ! ↡ Advertisement
