Glendon Neutral Newbie December 23, 2006 Share December 23, 2006 (edited) Hi, My front tyres feel punctured even though I just pumped them a few hours ago (ok just after pumping). However, you can't tell just by looking it them. I just feel it when driving. It's like more draggy, and the noise of the road is much higher. Am I having a punctured tyre that is deflating slowly? Thx. Edited December 23, 2006 by Glendon ↡ Advertisement
Hcblue99 Neutral Newbie December 23, 2006 Share December 23, 2006 Just by pumping the tyre u will know. A puncture will not stop at a preset pressure when u pump it.

Pisces69 6th Gear December 23, 2006 Share December 23, 2006 Pump it & with-in a couple of days, check it again with the same pump u used earlier. If that one tyre needs more air than the other 3, then most prob it has a small leak. Recently I went down, one day after pumping my tyres, to find 1 tyre flat. I pumped it up with my foot pump & had it checked at the tyre shop. Seems there was no leak but we suspect the valve was faulty. Just changed the valve to b safe. Cordia_gsr Neutral Newbie December 23, 2006 Share December 23, 2006 (edited) What tyre profiles are you using now? Sometimes, if your profile is wider than your rim's, most of the time, your tyres will look punctured due to that. E.g 195 on a 6JJ rim will have such effect. If it looks normal, I suggest to do rotation with the rear ones. At the same time, check to see if there are any nails or cuts on the tyres. Don't forget to check the air tube values too. They may leak at times. Edited December 23, 2006 by Cordia_gsr
Glendon Neutral Newbie December 23, 2006 Author Share December 23, 2006 Should I just go to any petrol station to do the tyres or safer to go back to C&C (mine is a 2 months old Lancer)? Will those petrol stations do monkey business - I read horror stories about how their steering alignment got messed up after getting their new tyres installed in some workshops. Glendon Neutral Newbie December 23, 2006 Author Share December 23, 2006 It's not how it looks actually - mine is stock tyres.
Cordia_gsr Neutral Newbie December 23, 2006 Share December 23, 2006 Did you pump the tyres after a long drive? Usually, when the tyres get hot, you will need to pump slightly more. Perheps you want to try 230 for the front and 210 for the rear.
Glendon Neutral Newbie December 23, 2006 Author Share December 23, 2006 (edited) Oh, for real? I think I did hear all 4 beeps when I pumped my tyres last night. I pumped my typres at about 7pm, but when I drove it again at 1am (was at Sarfra Club chatting with some 'long-lost' friends), I can really feel the car is draggy and road noise is unbearable. Glendon Neutral Newbie December 23, 2006 Author Share December 23, 2006 Mine is a Lancer and the recommended pressure is 210 for both front and rear. If I pump 230 for the front, would it affect my handling in any ways?

Bluemice 2nd Gear December 23, 2006 Share December 23, 2006 230 / 210 on stock aspec db ? when using those, i rem only pump 200 / 180 +- nia... anyway, i suggest u try to get a tyre gauge, every morning b4 driving off chk, do for a few days to confirm if leak. also if its a tiny leak thas not detectable by gauge, likewise it shld also not be able to be so evident that it affects the driving feel. mice

What happen to me last time is that, it keep on pumping air even it reaches the pre-set value. Maybe my puncture hole was too large that i loses pressure continuosly. ↡ Advertisement
