Boxster 2nd Gear April 27, 2007 Share April 27, 2007 (edited) Can't remember leh but I will see tmr papers got advertise or not. They dare to claim English manuals. Maybe translated ones By the way the gear shift what is "B" for and the "shift lock" for huh coz I new to auto "S" is for sports rite coz when I put to "S" can hear engine very noisy Edited April 27, 2007 by Boxster
Godfinger Neutral Newbie April 27, 2007 Share April 27, 2007 Shift Lock button when Pressed and hold it down, you can move your gear lever to any position when ignition is off. This function is particularly useful when engine cannot start and vehichle needs to be moved away, so whith shift lock pressed, you can moved the lever to 'N' and pushed the car away. 'S' is a O/D off function. Normally most encourage to drive with O/D on so that the transmission will go to the highest gear during curising. As such, try not to use 'S' all the time as your engine will be pushing hard since the transmission will be stressed more.
Panalogic Neutral Newbie April 27, 2007 Share April 27, 2007 pardon my ignorance but wat's O/D?
Boxster 2nd Gear April 27, 2007 Share April 27, 2007 I think O/D means overdrive the final lowest gear ratio? So Godfinger what is "B" for? Is shifting between "D" and "S" on the move bad for the car? Do you all know where is the chassis no. plate located? Seems that I can't find it when I opened the bonnet This car I also cannot find the power steering fluid "tank"
Tanjkp Clutched April 27, 2007 Share April 27, 2007 Is shifting between "D" and "S" on the move bad for the car? A : When one need to speed up faster "S" is Sport as this is CVT auto not conventional. So by using "S" means almost one is driving at low gear. Do you all know where is the chassis no. plate located? Seems that I can't find it when I opened the bonnet This car I also cannot find the power steering fluid "tank" A : If there no change from G9, the steering for 1.5 is electric motor driven that's Y no PS fluid. Ben0704 Neutral Newbie April 27, 2007 Share April 27, 2007 chassis number plate is located at the front passenger seat door area. open the door and scan the frame.
Boxster 2nd Gear April 27, 2007 Share April 27, 2007 This car I also cannot find the power steering fluid "tank" A : If there no change from G9, the steering for 1.5 is electric motor driven that's Y no PS fluid. Thanks for you answer Seems that my car seller can't even answer correctly and told me "this is hidden and will be check only during servicing" when I was taking delivery of the car. Panalogic Neutral Newbie April 28, 2007 Share April 28, 2007 A PI SE is really a pack of lies. They don't know anything but lie about everything. Anyway, there's a compartment for some red fluid. Isn't it for the power steering?
Godfinger Neutral Newbie April 28, 2007 Share April 28, 2007 O/D is overdrive. But because Axio is using a CVT transmission, there is no Overdrive function. Just that when shifting to 'S', the CVT will remains at the constant Gear ratio regardess of the amount of Accelerator input. Just such, you will find that the engine is particularlly noisy and rough when in 'S' mode but you have hugh amount of torque and power for overtaking and sprinting. Hope this helps. Godfinger Neutral Newbie April 28, 2007 Share April 28, 2007 Shifting between D and S is not particularlly harmful. Just that you will make the engine work harder when in 'S' mode and FC will suffer if left in 'S' mode all the time. Engine number and Chassis number can be found on the Engraved tag when you open the Left Front passenger door. Look for it on the door frame. Axio is using Electric Power Steering. Speeed Sensitive Function just like all other EPS system equipped Cars.
Panalogic Neutral Newbie April 28, 2007 Share April 28, 2007 wat's the speed sensitive function? So if EPS is used, i don't have to top up power steering fluid? BTW, is EPS a better system compared to the typical ones?
Boxster 2nd Gear April 28, 2007 Share April 28, 2007 I think the red fluid you see is the coolant expansion tank. From what I understand from Godfinger and Tanjkp Electric Power Steering (EPS) uses electric motor instead of hydraulic used in the older cars. Therefore it does use powersteering fluid. I read from papers that EPS helps in fuel consumption unlike the hydraulic types where the engine has to drive power steering pummp. Can check with you 2 things? 1) Your car the rear boot got lights a not huh mine no light leh dunno Y 2) My front engine bay driver side got 1 connector without any connections you notice any? Tomorrow I take picture and put up
Panalogic Neutral Newbie April 28, 2007 Share April 28, 2007 no rear boot lights for me too... Heard that we could install it though. Connector w/o connections... let's see the pic first :)
Godfinger Neutral Newbie April 28, 2007 Share April 28, 2007 EPS is entirely Electrical Powered Steering System. Using Sensors and Actuators so there is always a Speed Sensitive system in corperated such that Steering is light during low speed manenvour (eg:parking) and Steering gets heavier in high speed driving. Since EPS is Electrically powered, there is no Pump and belt to rob the engine power which may in return get better FC in the long run.
Ario Neutral Newbie April 28, 2007 Share April 28, 2007 no boot light for me also. If possible can install together..
