Shern25 2nd Gear December 24, 2007 Share December 24, 2007 To all new vios drivers, How has it been going with your new vios? Any complains or regrets? Will you strongly recommend this car to new car buyers?
Redboy 1st Gear December 24, 2007 Share December 24, 2007 (edited) Actually, good pt abt old vios is the balance btw FC & pickup response. There are cars with better pickup than old vios but are their FC as good? And there are cars with better FC than old vios but are their pickup as good? And surprisingly, it's not really floaty at our typical driving speeds(max 110kmh) The steering is light, good for fuss-free driving. Suspension decent enuf for reasonably comfy ride. Other than that, nothing much good. As what u said, feels cheap everywhere. IMHO, interior more disappointing & cramp than cheaper rides like getz, pica. E.g. boot cover which lacks dampening once you release it, gives me the feeling that it might break anytime, aircon which has odour for brief moment after start engine and turn on aircon. A turn-off! In fact, almost everything which u come in contact with shouts 'budget'. Overall, definitely not a car if ferry business associates/clients often. Very obvious noise when revs merely at 3K. But at least, engine quite responsive and gear change not so laggy(considered good for 1.5 car) My colleague who is used to high cc cars even remarked old vios lack power when he step on accelerator. But to me, the response is okay. But handling very wobbly. At low speed, light steering is good. But when comes to highway speeds, I dun feel confident cornering. Overly sensitive brakes, good for beginners but exp drivers might not like it. That's my honest views on the old vios. Each car has their pros & cons. The old vios is no exception. Captain_redbeard Neutral Newbie December 24, 2007 Share December 24, 2007 Seems that after the launch of the new vios.. there are very very few vios on the road already.. i think only matured people go for it's looks..
Picanto 3rd Gear December 25, 2007 Share December 25, 2007 beside altis, the new VIOS should be the 2nd best selling car in SPORE. its very easy to pinpoint its weakness, but for that type of price, i would see its quite good value for $$$.
Apollo 1st Gear December 25, 2007 Share December 25, 2007 not really lah.. one group of pple has moved towards hatchbacks, like Jazz, Getz, etc whilst most pple upgraded to the 1.6L and above sedans (Lancer GLXi and cxxxxxc) and MPVs but many pple still comprain price rising... tat's why this year got 2 time the COE fell drastic for 1.6 and below. but u'r right there is obviously less new Vios ard, even compared to new City. Apollo 1st Gear December 25, 2007 Share December 25, 2007 FC good mah. the iDSi one can hit smthg like 17-18km/l easily. CVT with no torque convertor = no torque loss.

Octopus 3rd Gear December 25, 2007 Share December 25, 2007 Just checked out the vios and city recently. The interior wise the city is definately much better. Vios internal everything hard, even the seats.... Don't like the centre meter panel. But Vios external is nice, I like the greyish blue.

No disrespect to new vios drivers, I think it looks too cute in such a way that no matter how I mod the looks, it'll never look sporty. So I would not say it's for mature ppl. Rather, it is cute, like march, beetle etc. In this respect, the old vios looks nicer even in stock. It can look sporty with some mods. ↡ Advertisement
