Maybe it's shape of headlights, bulge above front grille/weird rear

In layman terms, still dun have the 'tiong chia' or fierce looks!

Seems that after the launch of the new vios.. there are very very few vios on the road already.. i think only matured people go for it's looks..

 

No disrespect to new vios drivers, I think it looks too cute in such a way that no matter how I mod the looks, it'll never look sporty.

So I would not say it's for mature ppl. Rather, it is cute, like march, beetle etc.

 

In this respect, the old vios looks nicer even in stock.

It can look sporty with some mods.

 

Ladies car, it look gd for ladies or youngster.

I'm a newbie in cars. I m caught in a dilemma if I should choose a Vios or a Picanto. Personally, I've driven both of the cars and I felt equally good. Nevertheless, Vios is about 10K more than a Picanto. My criteria for a car is low depreciation and reliable. Based on the retail prices and OMV of the two cars, it seems that Picanto has a lower depreciation value. If I decide to sell my car after 3 to 4 years of driving, assuming everything's equal, which car is more likely to fetch a better resale price? In other words, which model is likely to depreciate more in terms of percentage of the retail price?

 

In addition, is it true that mechanical parts of korean cars are more expensive than Japanese cars in Singapore? Will greatly appreciate if someone could shed some light. Thanks.

1st I doubt your feeling, how can you I felt equally good between vios and Picanto?

2nd, vios definitely has better resale market.

3rd if you intend to sell your car after 3 to 4 years, mechanical parts are not major concern, now almost all brand cars are problem free within 1st 3 to 4 years unless you are bad luck

IMO, vios FC, performance, handling, safety, reliability, resale... all win over Picanto, except price

been driving vios for 7mths, Power ok for 1.5( heavy foot), FC is great Best at 15km/l (auto), most of the comments about the car from owners been made at the first few pages. apperance of cars r subjective. for the power etc. I say its enough for 1.5L.

Hi all, just got my Vios G Model (Auto) yesterday. I would say it is better FC and pickup than my previous 1.5l lancer CS03 (Manual). The sound insulation I should say better than my CS03 but still lose to Civic. Well, the price I pay for this car so far no comment. From the day I book until get my ride is only 3 weeks. Just duno why my license plate is still SJA and not SJC. I'm still running in and will feedback more if necessary.

it's certainly as spacious as altis. i sense that toyota thinks if altis and old vios sell so well, why not make a car that is mix of the two? i.e. nearly as spacious as altis, but nearly same FC as the old vios. the new vios also added thicker side armour than the old vios and make the front bumper pedestrian friendly, which makes this car having higher sense of safety. the new vios comes with super ECT for the auto gear which new camry has but altis do not. the new vios now comes with map reading light, retractable side mirror with light indicator, 15" wheel with 185mm width (my old vios become more comfortable ride after changing the stock 175mm to 185mm new tyres), better cornering, improved suspension that leads to less bumpiness and vibration ...etc

 

Somehow with the specs, the new vios ought to be top selling model... but there are still too few vios on the road as compared to the honda jazz, mazda3, civic and altis with similar range of registration plate number. I wonder why?

btw, anyone driving old vios here?

I drove my friend's old vios on a sunny day. After abt 30 mins of driving & parking the car, I do feel tinge of static electricity on car door body.

I was taken aback as I had not experienced it before on any other car.

Has it got anything to do with car paint?
