Neutral Newbie

Going for my 1st servicing, being a newbie myself, is there any specific areas I should ask the mechanics to look out for or check?

I have at this moment, the following pointers that I would like the mechanics to cover:

1) check wheel suspensions for damage (as I have gone up a couple of kerbs)

2) do not wash the car body. Only wash the under-body chasis and wheel areas

3) reset ECU

4) check CVT gear box for damages (could be damaged due to frequent gear shifting to practise parking)

5) able to repair a mini dent slightly above the tyre area (absolutely no idea how this dent comes along!!)

pls advise. thank you

Just let the SE know of items 1 to 4 n they will note it down on the job sheet.

Item 5 have to pay!!! I suggest u do it elsewhere.

Normally I will tell SE to wash the engine bay n the aircon condenser n radiator. Its not easy to access to such places to remove those small leaves.

bro...

what car you driving until you keep mounting kerb? if you are new to driving or the car that you are driving now is longer, take your sharp turns slowly.

I don't think you need to worry much about your gearbox.. if changing gears will cause you problems.. u will not be the only one.

as for the mini-dent. maybe it from one of you kerb mounting. in any case, you will have to pay for this as dents is not covered by warranty.

Have u been to TCM servicing b4???

Tell the SE to wash ur engine bay, they will know wat to do. They dont use a jet nozzle n spray ur engine bay!!! They will use degreaser n water wif cloth to clean it. They know the dangers.

When u collect ur car, open the bonnet n u will see a nice clean engine bay.

ECU = engine control unit. The computer in your car controlling the fueling and sparking among other things.

ECU no need to reset unless u do a mod, etc...it retains your driving habit called adaptive learning data. Once reset, it wont feel good to drive for a while cos the adaptive learning data need time to build up again.

Turbocharged

[reply]Are u driving a Latio?

My car exhaust also always hit kerb. So I can't reverse all the way in.[reply]

I have the same problem too. Exhaust hit a couple of times already but I think it's still holding steady. Need to take care esp parking in short parking lots eg one particular row at the East Coast UDMC parking area. I buang my bumper straight into the raised kerb as cannot see at night. [sweatdrop] But no damage to bumper at all.
