Just curious, here is a poll for curiosity sake.

Post a thread if you feel strongly against women drivers. Post a thread if you feel they are great drivers. Don't post a thread if you dun intend to contribute anything usefull.

Here are some stories from me.

I was parking in cityhall, the lady in front of me took approx 5 mins to reverse park into a solitary lot, then proceeded to bang her latio into a pole.

I was exiting cte into bukit timah, suddenly a lady in a merc swerve into my exiting lane through the white cone markings, i had to jam brake to avoid hitting her.

i was going up wheelock place carpark, a lady in a merc forgot to press her brake, went backwards into a van. big bang.

a lady going up takashimaya carpark gave up halfway, applied hand brake and got down the car and asked someone else to drive it up for her.

-----------------------------------------------

i shan't deny there are great female drivers, like the one that conquered the nuremberg in a ford transit, or Ms Butler-Henderson from fifth gear. Let's not forget Ms parker bowles from top gear.

im sorry, i dun have any positive stories yet, i'll add it in once i come to it.

for reading sake

Reading ur stories reminded me of a encounter with a RX 300 lady driver.

If you've been to West Mall car park.

Coming up from the basements to the floor where the barriers are, is a steep bend.

Was crossing the drive way near exit from basement, saw a RX300 coming up. It was very near the wall at it left side.

I know when she complete the turn, her left side will get contact wif the wall. I wanted to signal her about the wall but its too late.

Next thing I heard was a scratch.

Ouch....a big scratch mark left of the wall. No need to describe the car.

Most probably she won't feel a thing becoz she got the $$ to repair.

But poor wall.....

the female drivers i had met before are either very gungho or kiasi. the best female driver i'd ever met was a very petite girl whose father is a taxi driver....this girl drives like a guy. told me she was conditioned by her father.

I have seen a few good lady drivers, but most are [sweatdrop] .. I observe that there are few categories, very kiasi -> galang gaboh, very "aggressive" bec they dun really have a clue of the situation around them and of course the fighter....

Seems like female drivers only have 2 kinds.

1) Very kiasee driver and slow like hell

OR

2) Very fierce and skilful drivers who are better than most male drivers.

Seems like woman love the two extreme sides... [laugh][laugh]

When I see :

(1) ride on lane markings, or

(2) signal to change lane, move the car, touch the lane marking, realized a car was there , swerve back to own lane, or

(3) drive slowly and hogging road

49% women, 49% ah-pek with (either damn old, or damn thick glasses), 2% others

When I see :

Try to parallel park in congested place.. realized car either will hit other car, or will hit kerb, will attempt to go forward and backwards, turning the steering here and there.. but never correcting her actual angle.. all the 10 times going into the lot at the exact same angle, making the exact same mistakes...

That is 90% women, 9% aunties. (1% is guys born with genes of women... hahaha)

(Cos if guys, even ah-pek, or youngsters who just got license, 2 or 3 times will settle it after being able to see the angle that was giving the problem.)

When I see :

(1) Drive fast fast and change lanes fast (with or without signal), or

(2) tailgate

50% young men, 30% middle aged men without family on board, 20% auntie with big cars chatting with fellow auntie, or auntie with menopause (just kidding)

Majority of woman drivers are ok. There is also another type, those closely related to the type one stated by Adwin - Not only kiasee but very very poor in parking.

There was one time at Ngee Ann City, a woman took like 8-10 minutes just trying to reverse into one lot and I am the next car waiting for her to park so that I can proceed further down the car park. She initially wanted to park head-in but some how cannot do it and reverted to reverse park. There was a long queue and it was raining heavily outside. Some people even horn - I think she kan chiong and it made matters worse.

I have to tell her to let me help her park her SUV so that my little Vios and the rest of the @convoy@ can pass.

Sigh - [:/] I was very tempted to just drive her car to one side and park in her lot !!!

Of course I didn't do that lah...

actualli female drivers are not so bad...

though me did encounter one not so steady one..

she was doing a u-turn..and there was a car followin behind her doing the u-turn as well...

but noe wad...after the turn...her car reversed and hit the car behind sweatdrop.gif

kinda funny if u asked me coz the driver of the car behind her got down...

and he was in a shock laugh.gif

though no damages( from wad i see) ...it would still be an interesting case...

coz normally the rear vehicle is the one who bears responsibility....

but in this case...i do not haf to comment more le

I guess this generalization that 'women can't drive' gives us an insight into what goes on in womens' minds. We always say "what do women want"?

Well, i think the important question is "what's going on in her mind"?

That's why men will never understand women, like how we will never understand how they drive.

Some women drivers are really kuku..they feel that male drivers MUST give way otherwise no feng du (gentleman).

Till date I had 2 female frens who drove well and steady. They prefer manual cars to auto ! Well, one of them is quite pretty and she is very good in overtaking. [thumbsup]

Heng I drive manual... [:p]

Actually not all ladies only know how to drive auto cars. Even aunties driving vans are driving manual too.
