Suze Neutral Newbie April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2AXR7mSf-1187.html is this car worth the value?? ↡ Advertisement
Vit4wd 1st Gear April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 (edited) Worth its value cos of its high COE. That's about it. Paper value now shd be about $26K. So you are paying $12K for body. This is an outgoing old model. Prics shd drop further in future. Try bargaining to $35K. Then it may be worth your while. Pool100 1st Gear April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 You could have gotten a brand new one for around $44k a month ago... not worth paying $38 for a 2 year+ old car IMO...
Vit4wd 1st Gear April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 He wants auto. Auto was $46K brand new a mth ago.
Alfc 5th Gear April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 imo, not worth, might as well get brand new since the depreciation of new owner is almost same as brand new. Becos the price of the car is closed to or based on str line depreciation, it's overprice. First owner must take at least 15% depre for each year of ownership. High paper value is only good if u intend to sell in near short term (at least for scrapping). Otherwise will just add to higher annual ownership cost. Toyo 1st Gear April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 its not worth, imo. the depreciation is almost the same as buying a new vios.
Toyo 1st Gear April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 12k for the body??? tat's a bit too much for a small body
Hamtaroo Neutral Newbie April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 (edited) Not Worth it price too high because, assume deregister the car now 1Apr07, From 1Apr07->28Jan15(when COE expire) = 7yrs 9.9mth or 93.9mth COE Rebate = (20117 x 93.9) / 120 = $15741.55 PARF Rebate = (0.75 x 1.1 x 12597) = $10392.53 Paper Value = COE Rebate + PARF Rebate = $26134.08 Seller Selling For $38800 means body value = 38800 - 26134.08 = $12665.9 Old Vios Body Value with new Vios Model already out on 31Mar07 is $8-9K. You can ask any AD or PI or 2nd Hand Car how much they take in body value Old vios think is 8K average now and a bit more than that if you are lucky... If it were me, body value i take as 7.5K so negotiate $5165.9 down more which mean no profit for them kekekeke Not worth it Edited April 1, 2007 by Hamtaroo
Toyo 1st Gear April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 8K for body sounds reasonable. basically the resale value for a car is based on COE and PARF rebate plus body value.
Schneider79 Clutched April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 8k is over rated... today's YOM 2004 VIOS body is 6k+ only...
Alfc 5th Gear April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 Agreed. So many times i wonder where is the logic that certain makes suppose to have "good resale value"??? End of the day the amt lost by the seller is almost the same % loss of his initial amt paid. Buy high, get a bit more, buy low, get a bit less. Zero sum game in the end. It may just all be a matter of perception.
Vit4wd 1st Gear April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 The ad by Borneo Motors says "Toyota - More Value Year after Year" Which means that Toyotas appreciate in value year after year. The longer you use your Toyota, the higher resale value it can fetch.
