I hate the incessant whine from the CVT.

This was a recent Toyota box however. How are the Scooby's?

I shall call my MIL CVT from now on.  [thumbsup]

:D

Being driving the FXT for a month now. Can't really hear any whining sound. Actually the car is pretty quiet. Beyond 0.5bar boost, can faintly hear the turbo spooling.

Coming from a MT, I feel that the rubberband feeling is still there. S# mode will minimize the effect. But I've tried a few DCT before and the feeling is quite similar. Maybe it's a safety feature for the e throttle, the first few degree of depressing the gas pedal will not launch the car forward like in a MT.

Quite a burn. But I think it's correct to say that, all new cars sure no problem...

I am always amused when people say their few months old car no problem this and that.

People still cannot accept that today cvt is greatly improve

Like 40-50 Years ago,Torque Convertor Auto, also nobody can accept it,because the higher FC,poor pick up & more expensive to buy, older Auto also very jerky during gearchange.

If cvt is that popular, aisin and ZF would have close shop long ago.

CVT performance is a JOKE, compared to the time-proven Aisin, ZF and G-Tronic implementations of the automatic gearbox!

The CVT,need to work like a Autobox, like you can see the gear change, also no slippage feel, nobody will mind.

Actually I'm fine w cvt, cos when chg to manual mode as fast as dct. Also if u accel at peak torque rpm, just feel ur car pickup while u constantly "stick" ur back onto the seat. Depress deeply, cvt may even "kick down" like conventional auto / dct..

Very difficult to sextified people lah. Give you uber smooth CVT, you say no kick no acceleration. Give you robotised manual, you say jerkiness. Give you traditional slush box, you say high FC. Give you real manual, you say left leg cramp, cannot drive in stop-start traffic...

Only no gear car is the bestest. Give you electric-motor car lor. But you need to bring along many many many AAA batteries lor. [:p]

That's why there are so many conflicts in the world. Where there are humans, conflicts inevitable
