Should be ard 60-70 for the engine and air-con filter. they had mentioned during the 20k servicing that the auto-trans fluid to be change at 30k and that is around 2-300, cant remember the exact figure already but it is not a small amount.

Ok la... Not that bad.... less than 100...

because of an expanding family, I have been looking around for spacious cars.

went to try the citroen grand picasso

my family loved it. the space, the clever use of space, the seating arrangements, bells and whistles, just too many to name.

for myself, having owned a 156 selespeed before, quite enjoyed the EGS (also an automated manual gearbox), as well as the frugal and powerful 1.6 turbo. FC is one of my considerations as I clock 25k to 30k a year and I do not travel up north. My previous car clocked 5km/L and the current one clocks 11km/L; I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how much savings I made on fuel. So now FC does make sense (or cents) for me. Anybody has actual driving FC for the 1.6 turbo EGS?

I actually enjoyed the drive and fiddling with all the toys. Think I'm getting old and drive real cautiously nowadays. My life means too much to my family, and vice versa.

Reliability wise, I hope it's not a huge problem?

If u do 80%city driving, u prob will hit about 9km/l. If 80%highway driving, prob about 11-12km/l. I have driven 16k km. No prob other than my Bluetooth dying on me and fixed under warranty

Mine is the 1.6 turbo egs version.

Ask SE to throw in 3 yr free servicing lor...at least that helps to cover some costs and lay down some worries...

but honestly at 79K for the exclusive, I wld have gone for it, if I hadn't book my ride. All round sun roof, alloy rims that really looks good, fog lamp, auto rain and light sensor....6 air bags....everything is in it man.!!! no need to ask SE for more except solar film and 3 yr free servicing :)

reliability....that I do not know.

cheers,

I like MasterCard, I think it a leader. I have been used mastercard for 2years, and I never have a problem. use Debit cards in Spain i guarantee safely my money.

Booked 2 C4GP for the family. Awaiting new shipment because of colour.

Looking forward to it!

Have you got your ride?...in the market for a MPV, as all here...family growing..

Saw the Pug 5008 - Dislike the cramp feel, saw the XC60, love it...saw the Smax - pretty decent, but a bit outdated dash, then saw this...boy...openly interesting...

Thinking now and yes..it is cheaper than some Jap MPV...stream/Oddey and Wish...

care to share you pros and cons here, before I decide....

hi there

yes have been driving for a month. Everyone loves it.

Plenty of cubby holes. Machiam magic show.

panaromic windscreen and roof. Everybody goes 'wow' everytime.

torquey 1.6turbo engine and I love the EGS

extra mirror also means I can keep an eye on my passengers as well as rear traffic.

The electronic self-off parking brake is useful for those tricky slopes.

the best part: the empty space between the front seats! Many a time I have parked in a very tight lot/next to those pillar with some metal encasement. So I just ingress/eagress from the passenger side. Impossible if there were a gearstick in the middle.

Pregnant wife is very very happy with the front seats. Comfortable.

Don't like:

the electronic parking brake is too far. Need to sit up from my comfy seat to engage it

IU is so faaaarrrrr

I just wish the chiller can be stronger; dependant on air con temp

so many cubby holes so I have all sorts of trash in there :p

automatic wipers. Exaggerated action most of the time.

Fuel consumption 11.2km/L on SPC95. 70highway/30city

wah..... machiam fathers' gathering here :)))

btw we bought baby seats already.... and being twins means plenty of research and strategizing done :)

one child seat to fix permanently behind driver seat

then wife will sit in the middle of 2nd row

then attach the 2nd one on the outside of the middle row, so wife sits between the two infants :)

In all will take a good 5 minutes just to bring the family out! :D

Hey Thanks ofr the info Bro...

I am still undecided - one one mind I am worried about the reliability issues and resale value and on one hand I am impressed with the car..pack and full to the brim..

also the cost - I can;t believe it is cheaper than the japs model out there...i guess is the exchange vis a vis SGD to YEN and EUR..

is this the best time to get a conti???

Did some home work

Wish - >110k

Stream - >110k

Oddessy - >130k

Smax - >120k

Pug 5008 - >124k

Not touch on other PIs MPV - should I??

My main concern below :-

Resale value - All these while with Jap brand - I am not sure - I see a lot 2nd hand wish still can get 80-90 for a 1-2 yr old car...what about C4. Not that I am going to sell it within a couple of yr...say sit for 5 yrs and back side itchy again...then wan to sell how much would it be...worse that a Jap model???

reliability - Jap not an issue so far - been luckj I guess..but there are those unlucky ones..

servicing - My Jap brand does not come cheap - a couple of hundred each service...what about this car after the 6 so called free service...and about spare parts? electric seat and all the fuzzy stuff/wiring...what if it break down afther the 3 yrs free service - cost a bomb??

and personally - the SA fromthe Japs brand are giving the brand a bad name - my wife and I been to a few and nobody wan come to entertain us...

not even comming up and explaning to us what the whim about their cars!!! so much for service...then again, maybe is the way we dress and with 3 noisy kids along...hey they are just kids..can't blamne them..and seriously not one of the SA came up and ask us anything...this from a reputable jap brand...I told myself I am not stepping in there again.

OMV - If I get this car - I plan to keep it for probabaly a long time - how much will be the scrape value?

Also - is it advisable to keep a car for long term...ppl here keeps changing car every 2-3 yrs...otherwise the value will plunge from the 5 yr onwards? is it true?? Sorry I am new to Spore.

And normally - how much % loan should one take here so that at the end of the 10 yr - you don't lose much - It's like leasing a car..just pay for rent...for example, if i pay 50% of the price which is 50k....end of the 10 yrs, will I still get back my 50k?

OR

is it better just pay 10% of the car, get 90% loan and keep the rest of the 40k for instalment purpose? I know there is the interest part...but it looks not a big deal..

on the other hand, I know you some will say you can't put a value on your family's safety..it's priceless and this car may save your family in an emergency...so cannot compare...and a 7 seater is necessary for my growing family..

hahahaha....all these is bugging me, so still thinking hard...

Was there today - SA told me only left with 2 colors choice and if want other colors have to wait until Jan...

What colors did you get?

Btw - won't you lose a year in depreciation if you get your car in Nov/dec? as they always go by years and not mth?? example when you sell ppl always ask which year and not mth so yours will be 2010 and they will quote from that year but you have only driven it for 1 mth or so in 2010 and lost 10-20%???

If you have Jan 2011 car, then not so bad - you would have driven for full 1 yr in 2011....

Sorry, i am new in the car market talk...just wan to find out more howspore car market function...:-)

errr

sorry ah wrong person to ask wheter a car is worth it. Buying a car is a sure way to lose money anyway. The prices on sgcarmart are already mark up by dealers. You won't get such prices when they buy it from you.

C&C has this buy back scheme right? anyway an MPV is for long term. Just get the sales guy to calculate your instalments and money stuff for you; they'd have a much clearer picture.

Reliability is very much dependent on your luck.

EVer since my first car which was jap and broke down so often i've owned one korean and a few continental (includes 2 alfa's). And i've never been keen on jap cars with their boring interiors and seemingly cheap material used. Ended up only one of my alfa's broke down twice in 5 years. The japanese car? 5 times in less than 2 years.

For me, if it can put a smile on my family's face, that would be it. And of course, the design. Has to be a car I look forward to be in everyday. Hence the interior must be nice, the drive must be fun and the smile must be there. It's my money so I buy what I like, not what others buy and I follow the trend.

I'm sure the panoramic roof and windscreen is good for your kids. I've always been very against kids watching too much TV and whatever DVD's. Let them look out of the car! Look at the sky, the roads, the surrounding building and cars, etc!

sorry; can't really help much because we've different perspective on buying a car. nonetheless, hope you can come to a decision which you will be happy with!

cheers
