Prior to the engine oil brand change any problem?

If you have no problem with the previous brand of oil then the grade of the current one may not suit well with your car.

Another possibility...Do a quick check with your eng. distick on level ground in the morning, check if they had over filled the engine oil. Oil level should be on the "H" mark or slightly higher only. If not slightly lower oso alrite. If it about 0.5-1mm above then definately over filled liao.

Ok, over filled the engine with engine oil will cause air starvation so it may be the cause of your sluggisnest.

Another oil to check is your auto trans oil...same too much or too little will also affect its operations.

Lastly, remove your air filter to check if its clogged, or it may not changed.

Happy finding.

FYI, the oil level must be in between the hi and lo mark.... If its at 'H' means that its overfilled...

I dunno it could be your air sensor. If it's covered with dirt and dust it could not give an accurate feedback to your engine ECU thus the result u'r getting.

Are u using aftermarket air filter btw?

When u got ur ES5? If sway sway kena lemon car will sure have all sorts of funny noises.

Bring to AD they will take their time solve bit by bit. I brought mine to AD countless times before due to some stupid noise! Wasted so much of my time. Now still have noise. [bounce1]

Sometimes i wonder, if all the AD is doing a good job,

they should be called the specialist,

from the thread, it seems like even Honda AD CMI.

Then why should we pay them so much for car servicing?

If the so called specialist cannot do the job, then who can do the job. ?

Honda should give you a free car to drive, while they fix the problem for you.

Lexus do that when your car break down on the highway, they will drive you the same model lexus for you to drive, then they tow your broken down vehicle to their AD workshop.

Cheers

Gimmy

Wet air is more condense and therefore you can get better combustion and that translates into more power feel

hmm... good point. [thumbsup] After you mention it, I [idea] that indeed during raining day the car is more power feel. Anything I can do to improve the combustion during the "hot air"? [sly]

I agree there may be transmission wear and tear issues rather than simply engine no power because it is intermittent

As it gets worse, the feeling of 'no power' will become more frequent

At the early stages, it is possible to use a ceramic repair gel on the transmission and engine. It is quite costly but still cheaper than an overhaul. As it becomes more and more difficult to change car due to the current COE levels, I personally feel it is good to 'buy insurance' with something like the ceramic gel. Not many drivers want to have to find out about engine and transmission overhaul nowadays. More importantly, not many mechanics still know (or want to) do a proper overhaul with no resident problems after the work is completed. Few years ago, when everybody was buying new cars, many experienced mechanics went the way of the dodo

Later stage can only go for overhaul. But for 'no power' it is true that the engine oil must NOT be overfilled. Overfilling engine oil robs performance (mine was overfilled at one stage and had difficulty going above 100 kph no matter how hard I pushed it)

Transmission must make sure ATF is filled to the correct level (check with engine running and properly warmed) as opposed to checking engine oil

It could be engine mount wear off, as due to our hot weather, the rubber won't last more than 40k, the labour depends on how difficult to access the mount.

I did my 2 VW mounts change at Ethoz for $180.
