Darthmaul Neutral Newbie March 12, 2008 Share March 12, 2008 I must say Macs are very stable and reliable. I bought the first generation iMac when it was first launched in SG in 1998. Now 10 years later, it is still running with no problems at all! In fact, now it belongs to my son who is using it to play educational CDs. Of course I have other Mac models too... and now I have my eye on the Macbook Air ↡ Advertisement

So just would like to have some feedback here .... since Sitex is just round the corner. Changed to a Mac some time ago...never looked back ever since... Think of it this way...Surf all the Porn you want & not get any Virus...

Madsumm 1st Gear March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 I'm one of the convert.. can say.. "Pretty newbie" to mac. I'm running MacBook with 2GB and will be "upgrading" my home PC to iMac 24" or Mac Pro in the future. So.. I am not even thinking about upgrading my PC liao. Everything i can do, I can do better in mac. Its more stable, faster as well. Even if u install WinXP in Macbook, its even faster then more expansive wintel notebooks that I have! Appeal wise, Mac wins handsdown.
Guyver 1st Gear March 13, 2008 Author Share March 13, 2008 Use a mac .. you would not regret. With Office for Mac .. it settles most of your documentation needs. Entourage for Outlook. Just use Thunderbird to migrate all your emails. Everything done in a jiffy. With leopard, you will find everything a breeze. What i like about my mac (btw, i am a new convert. Got my Macbook less than 1 month ago) - type command shift 4. that is one cool printscreen. - boot up very fast .. as compared to my windows xp on my acer. - cool factor!!! - my mac book's adaptor head is really cool .. magnetic. when i first started out, half the time i was wondering if it is properly secured. - low on virus vulnerability - i have learned and grown to love applications like Quicksilver, Photo Booth, Vienna etc. - it is behaving identical to my windows .. so getting used to it takes around 1 hr for me, with occassional surprises up to today on some applications. Still discovering more fun about my MacBook. I love it. With the dropping cost of Macs ... guess Mac is a good arena to explore ....
Guyver 1st Gear March 13, 2008 Author Share March 13, 2008 Most likely ... I will not jump to Mac so fast ... as I have just gotten the Starhub notebook at $299 .... But I would like to explore what Mac has .... How's your exploration with Mac? I have yet to explore ... but will want to look into it. Now does anyone here using Windows Mobile 6 based PDA Phone and managed to sync smoothly without any problem with their Macs?

Tsjade Neutral Newbie March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 (edited) i'm running mac os x 10.4 (aka tiger). here's a tribute... TIGER, tiger, burning bright In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies Burnt the fire of thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand dare seize the fire? And what shoulder and what art Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand and what dread feet? What the hammer? what the chain? In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? What dread grasp Dare its deadly terrors clasp? When the stars threw down their spears, And water'd heaven with their tears, Did He smile His work to see? Did He who made the lamb make thee? Tiger, tiger, burning bright In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
