Orac Clutched December 1, 2007 Share December 1, 2007 Hi, Am considering getting chrome wheels, but have doubts about its maintenance. Anyone here who is currently using chrome wheels... especially those deep dish types care to share your experience? I'm worried about road tar getting stuck to the chrome dish. Please advise. Ikeehc Clutched December 1, 2007 Share December 1, 2007 actually quite easy to maintain.... 1) use "mama lemon dishwashing liquid" to wash the wheels regularly. 2) apply wax on the rims after washing. You should be more careful abt the rims getting kerb rashes (difficult to restore) so do drive carefully.
Watwheels Supersonic December 1, 2007 Share December 1, 2007 Just bring your them for acid bath and chrome again. Wait. Your chrome dish is metal or plastic? If u worry road tar getting stuck or whatever, might as well dun chrome.
Yeobh 4th Gear December 1, 2007 Share December 1, 2007 Looks like it's going to be very stressful for you, why not opt out and enjoy driving and have more time for yourself and family rather then spending your free time cleaning and polishing the rims - unless it's a labour of love. Thepukster Neutral Newbie December 1, 2007 Share December 1, 2007 I am on chrome rims and using mama lemon. So far so good. If you want to buy rims cleaner, better to check if it complements chrome rims or not. If not, mama lemon is cheap and good. road tar will not stick on chrome rims (or rather very easily removed), so dun worry.
