Typhoonz 4th Gear December 6, 2007 Share December 6, 2007 Because the gahmen is not doing anything to make a career in sports appealing... Naturally parents of talented kids would think that the various sports associations will favour the foreign talents more than their children mah... For the foreign talents, this is their next phase for a better life. But to the parents, it's no more than just a hobby or past time... So what if they win a few medals? What's in for them in the long run? ↡ Advertisement
Nutty 4th Gear December 6, 2007 Share December 6, 2007 I believe the original intent of bringing in FT sportsmen is to help to improve the standards of the local. I think nowadays, they are more obsessed in bringing home the medals.

Dipstick Neutral Newbie December 7, 2007 Share December 7, 2007 (edited) I believe the original intent of bringing in FT sportsmen is to help to improve the standards of the local. I think nowadays, they are more obsessed in bringing home the medals. At around $200,000 to $250,000 per medal, I wonder if it's worth it. Those FT sportsmen/women, once they amass enough $$$ from the medals they pack up and go home with all kinds of reasons/excuses. At least one who has even taken up citizenship have gone home with a suitcase filled with S$$$$$........ Edited December 7, 2007 by Dipstick
