@Dibma

Thanks for the input.. will take note of that. and yes battery from factory alway worries me since you cant predict when its goin to die on me... usually the tell-tale-sign is a longer cranking when start engine. Which im experiencing now after 2 months. My last Mits Airtrek had same problems. So i will have it change before my long trip again. cheers

Ask Vantage to check the alternator.... if it's charging your battery at all.

Usually larger cars like mondeo or s-max has higher capacity alternators and battery. it should last at least 18 months.

nonetheless, its always a good practice to ask SA to check battery everytime you go for servicing.

Supercharged

My ride is under utilise (just clock 17k) as I am out of the country most of the time and the wife do not (dare) to drive it yet.

the above could be the reason why ur battery died young.

failure to keep it charged up.

Agreed.

Due to my work schedule I normally replace the battery somewhere between the 15th - 18th month. Previous experience have taught me so.

But then again this kind of occurence is so unpredictable.

Congrats sir!! Just to share, my cousin owned a Galaxy years back, had a bad accident in Malaysia and her family was in the car.

Thankfully, they all survived and although the car was written off, she bought another Galaxy, shows how solid it is!!

BTW, u booked the diesel version at S$149k?? How much was the petrol version and did u try both versions? what's the diff?
