Boyboy 1st Gear January 30, 2008 Share January 30, 2008 dont think the injectors will get clogged with carbon unless you are refering to direct injection. u are right but i believe there are impurities in the fuel which can clog the injector. after all why do they have fuel filter? i'm very sure some gunk gets past the filter, and that's what the techron or whatever is there to mitigate ↡ Advertisement
Boyboy 1st Gear January 30, 2008 Share January 30, 2008 i drive manual. after NSH runs my car does feel more responsive. of course it could be a placebo and no, doesn't mean that manual automatically translates to "dragging". if i'm in no hurry i'll upshift at 2-2.5k rpms max.. Kxbc Turbocharged January 30, 2008 Share January 30, 2008 geee....what do you drive? A teeny weeny Latio. Want to go fast also cannot. Ram hard up to 3k rpm also 100km/hr only. No point as I can get up to 90km/hr at 2k rpm easily.
Lala81 Hypersonic January 30, 2008 Share January 30, 2008 I believe its all the ECU learning abt driving habits. If i drive only at night vs driving in the day often, i can feel the car's responsiveness and gear shifts changing. From start stop to constant pickup and cruising. Boyboy 1st Gear January 30, 2008 Share January 30, 2008 this is so for auto cars. for manual cars i'm not sure that the ECU has different settings for economy and sporty driving. unless it's some high-end sports car perhaps
Kxbc Turbocharged January 30, 2008 Share January 30, 2008 I haven't gone into M'sia for many years already. I think the responsiveness of my car is more of the ECU adapting to my driving habit. My current driving pattern is all city driving weekdays and occasional HW on weekends. But during my 2-week reservist a few months ago, I do a lot of HW driving in the early morning or late night. At the end of the 2 weeks, I find the car more responsive though I did not ram hard during those 2 weeks to clear carbon also. Within a couple of days of city driving again, responsiveness is not there anymore. Same driving habit, therefore my guess it is ECU adapting to me and road conditions.
