Steering Vibrates when braking

Guess the simplest is to ask the mech to check then..... but I'd probably know the answer as they'd ask me to change looking at my mileage [sweatdrop] .

Same symptoms with urs....i change rotor...problem solved [idea]

I'm not sure if this is the same problem - My recently purchased 2nd-hand auto car vibrates quite a bit (not so much only the steering, more the chassis and car in general) when the car is stationary and idling, for eg. at traffic lights. It happens whether my gear is engaged or if I put to neutral, but thankfully the severity varies so I've good days and bad days.

My friend said it is normal, but I'm not sure. It reminds me of cabs I use to take, where I see the gear stick vibrating when the car is stationary. Is it due to extended travelling, like cabs? Then again, my mileage for my car is pretty low leh.

Any advice would be appreciated. [sweatdrop][bigcry]

Thanks. Got to confess, I'm not familiar with the term "up the lorry". Hope it just means loose, not that my car got buang before. Second owner, so you never 100% know. [crazy]

Can be due to multiple reason. Best to let an experience mechanic to check it out

Care to recommend some experienced mechanics?

Preferred someone from the west/northern side of Singapore.

Most importantly, must be honest and trustworthy.

rotors are warped. Have it change or skim... it helps

I thought the 'vibration' is felt thru the brake pedal when braking to slow speeds.

At least, that was the case when I drove my SIL's car which had warped rotors.

Does steering vibrate too when rotors are warped?

Up the lorry means gone case...need to replace as the mounting can't absorb the engine vibration anymore. Most common with 2nd hand car,but as u said hopefully its just loose.

Another pointer to look out for is the dirty throttle body. Get it clean.

laugh.gif Bro icetrap mentioned are some possible symptom of it. go get an experience mechanic to check it out.

I encountered this b4 and it's due to warped rotor. sometimes it's hard to view by the naked eye and u nid to remove the wheels and the entire rotor assembly to see the warp condition when turning.

Brakes and tyres are one of e most impt for a vehicle, one stop ur car & other constant contact with the road.shocked.gif
