actually i agree with you...for the price you pay for the car actually as long as the car doesn't give you any engine/mechanical problem, can't complain right? [laugh]

Heard the local agent is really bad...nothing good from the forums i see so far....

Don't know if it's any consolation my conti (an opel meriva - paid $72k in 2005) didn't give much problem for the last three years except for two incidents hehehe safety feature froze my car on the causeway and the crank sensor failed on BKE (both also free agent was gentleman about the issue, replace no questions ask)...hahaha so scary...other then that no other problems with interior, a/c...now my wife & mum driving the car...i just got a new car so *touch wood* hope nothing happens... Hyundai Matrix (3 years old)

changed both power windows

changed battery 3 times

changed brake light 2 times

What kinda sucky batteries did they give in their cars anyway? [laugh]

i got one friend who happen to drive the same car as you, 3 days after collection of new car, the engine die off by itself, he ask for one to one exchange [laugh][laugh][laugh]

what i try to tell you here? i m trying to tell you, in a forum like this, u can say anything and is up to you to belif, no one cares, people will still buy toyota, hyundai, honda, merc, bmw etc etc.... so no need to discredit any make and model, understand LOSER??? [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Please look at it objectively. Who's the loser? I'm owning the most cost effective car here! The Loser is the one losing $ just trying to own some korean, japanese brand!

ESPECIALLY on cars like Honda Civic! Just imagine, it has no turbo or superchanger but priced at $80+++??? Is that not overpaying? And the HOnda City! It's so small, and being just an NA car, going at $60+++??? Phew!!!!!! When the oil price go up and up, these people who spend all their $ on their cars will have to sell them away!

Do you know what I'm saying? Can you understand my logic?

My 4 yrs old Jazz with 95k mileage.

1) Changed rear wheel bearing at 40k under warranty

2) Changed fan belt and aircon bearing at 80k(wear and tear)

3) Changed battery once in july 2005.

The rest are normal oil change every 10k servicing. Do you consider this reliable?

look, u have said, that's your LOGIC, but it does not apply to everyone.

buying a car is a personal choice (how many times u need people to tell you this??), people dun like/ trust china car so just be it, why bother to discredit other make just to show how efficient/ cost effective of your car??

i really do hope that now, after so much of name calling and such, you know that no one in this forum are against china make car, people only against YOU.

Is is really possible to have changed the whole dashboard panel? I mean if it was really that bad, the owner would have noticed it on collection day & refused to sign for the car right? At least where I am concerned, I have never heard of new cars having their dashboard replaced by the AD. Anyway, if all these changes are true, then I have another view of Borneo Motors as an AD...ie at least they have gained my respect for being willing to change so many items within the warranty period

[thumbsup]

you have a wonderful car. congrats.

if you're convinced it is. just be happy. why compare?

i'm very happy with my car. very frugal, reliable and fun to drive.

i'm very contented and don't see the need for any comparison whatsoever.

Frankly speaking, I still do not trust Chinese technology yet at this point of time. Too many of their technologies are replicas of others, from MP3 players to cars. There is no originality and they certainly do not project a good image pertaining to quality in general. It's gonna take them years to catch up with the likes of Japan, Germany etc. To start with, they should come up with something original of their own, stop the copying and improve on quality control.

It's the same for cars. Yes, they are cheap as compared to the mainstream brands but I definitely wouldn't buy them. I'd rather get reliable brands.

Just my humble opinion.

actually I think copying for start is fine.. its the quality that matters.. u see the screws and nuts all outside the car. After shine and rain, u will see the rust coming. And the gaps in between the parts are hugh. I remember I saw this geely @ roadshow and I tried to open and close the arm rest.. it couldn't even clip and close properly.. haha quality comes 1st then design for me if outside looks nice but one touch everything splits apart.. no thanks [laugh]
