Not really; you haven't compared it to Swift 1.5

Price: $53k

IMHO, the Swift is in a tough fight with the new Mazada 2... [:p] Both are equally good looking in their own way, FC not much of a difference & the only advantage I can think of Swift is that, being in the mkt for a long time, has more mods available & proven reliabilty...

Mazda2 (1500cc)

price: 50-54k

Yaris: (1500cc)

price: 56k

Jazz: (1400cc)

price: 58-59k

march: (1400cc)

price: 55-60k

issnt it like cheaper then the other jap makes of the same cat?

One of the nicer hatch... The other u can look at is the Suzuki swift

Daihatsu Sirion also not bad. and priced cheaper [thumbsup]

True, true - Sirion 1.5 is comparable to the Jap H/Bs; value-for-money car, good FC, a people carrier in the hatch back class, & bundle with the bodykit, Sirion gives the rest a tough fight.

Only 2 setbacks is that Sirion no longer has the funky speedometer & the possible poor resale value... Else I might have chosen Sirion over my current ride [:(]

has pretty good specs for its class as well...

Engine capacity 1,498 cc

Engine type Incline 4 cylinders, DOHC 16V

Compression ratio 10

Bore x Stroke (78.0 x 78.4) mm

Power 113 bhp

Torque 140 Nm

pretty impressive figure for a 1.5L with that kind of pricing...but all this are paper specs, wld be more interested to hear some bros that has test driven or own one to comment on it.

Correction...its 103bhp and 137Nm. The 113 and 140Nm is sgcarmart's own modified Mz2 that is not available in the market yet [laugh]

Is it really possible to get Mazda 2 at 50K? any T&C? It's a nice looking hatch....

Yes. If you take 10 yr 90% loan, it is possible to get it at 50K flat! [nod]

just got for my wife at S$50,188. True Red "V" version. Delivered just week.

comes with sports rim, huperoptik all round, leather seats, chrome muffler, short antennae, fog lights etc etc.

got from village credit at chun tin. SE's Winfield.

will post some pics soon. to me, it is a pretty good and refined ride. packed 5 into it and the ride still runs smooth. FC not known yet coz just a few days old but according to my wife, the needle drops little.

interior's good but it's a little cramp for me *maybe I am used to my camry* The handling is tight. handles corners well. Steering wheel feels a tart heavier than most cars in its class.

stay tune for the pics [;)]

I also got it for $50,188. True red "R" version. Full bodykits, 16" low profile tyres and everyhing you mentioned (minus the chrome muffler). From MM at macpherson.

mazda2 is way much more good looking than swift

I think its in a different league in terms of looks.

Mz2 is more on the sporty side and the swift is in the cute cute side.

another setback i heard is their SE unwillingness to give freebies.

but i thk the resale value shouldn't be that bad, its a jap car afterall. anyway buy low sell low, depreciation also not very high. one thing good abt sirion is the mark up is not high [thumbsup]
