Evertop Neutral Newbie January 8, 2009 Share January 8, 2009 What you usually do to maintain your car? Wash my car 2 times a week. Try to every month wax the car. Sometimes do it in 2 weeks. . . used to use HG88. Now loving Collinite... ... Honestly had some packages running outside with some big bros... ... however face issues such as cannot remove only cover-appear again after rain, leaving halograms and claim it's my paint problem. Quite saddening. . . so patiently awaiting MD's re-appearance to save the day. Tried using BOSCH DA machine but cannot remove also. Heard so much abt Menzerna, used to be carried by Accord.com... ... but never tried using myself... ...

I tried their one time polish recently but not satisfied with the result. Some fine lines are still visible if I look hard and some marks are still there. I believe the product is good, only the workmanship is doubtful. Yet to find one place that can do a good thorough job of polishing.
Davc Neutral Newbie January 9, 2009 Share January 9, 2009 If you have paid for expensive service, you should question them why are there still marks. If they say that's their standard then that's it. But if they say they'll remidy for, and then next time take care of your need etc. Have to discuss with them. If some marks are really too deep and requires the groomer to take away some clear coat thickness, they need to discuss with the owner. It depends on the state of the paint, and your expectation and what are you paying for and how much you are paying.

Selespeed156 Neutral Newbie January 9, 2009 Share January 9, 2009 Gentlemen, May I know what is the reasonable price to polish the car from a specialist? I paid $370 for the following: wash, clay bar (I think), remove swirl marks, seal and wax. My car is jet black and its a big size saloon. Is this price reasonable even if the workmanship is good? Please comment. Thanks!

Most of the times, swirls and water marks are well removed and covered. But always leave a nice set of halograms on the car which is super obvious under bight sunlight. Suddenly car becomes 3 Dimensional. When informed, no doubt they tried to rectify. But somehow only managed to remove partial and proclaim it's my paint work issue. But when I used my BOSCH DA machine, I too managed to remove some with bro Benny's advice. But always hesistant to buy a Makita to go it myself because scared I also like them create halograms. Bottom line, I believe the halograms can be removed but somehow something missing somewhere... ... Personally I really love detailing my ride, will always want to learn more. Are you bro Davc from civicFD? I think you once organised a session at Hypercoat but I didn't manage to go as was caught up with some stuff... ... Are you bro Davc from civicFD? I think you once organised a session at Hypercoat but I didn't manage to go as was caught up with some stuff... ... If black car and need to clear certain things like scratches or water mark, they need to go with wool pad or the sponge cutting pad (Maroon Colour) with something like Meg #105, surely have fine swirls and hologram. Need additional steps to finish it. I personally do one more step like Meg #83 or Sonax nano polish, finish with a fine polish with those really soft pad to get the max gloss. If they have a DA machine less stressful, with a rotary really need to be almost no pressure on the panel to be holo free. But hologram if you check with a 300-400Watt spot light before they wax, they will sweat lah......but that's how I can be sure. Soft black paint is really a test of patience. If you have a DA already, the more severe correction with rotary part let the pro do, or maybe don't even need to use rotary after you've corrected the problems and maintained properly, a DA will do most jobs already.
