Huggable Clutched March 16, 2008 Share March 16, 2008 But lots of people whack the interior parts (handles, controls, etc) too. Come to think of it.

Vicz Neutral Newbie March 16, 2008 Author Share March 16, 2008 But the warranty period will still be the same. I don't think mileage has too much diff...
Vicz Neutral Newbie March 16, 2008 Author Share March 16, 2008 thot its kinda good deal yes... as long as the spruce it up. er... of cos i mean the display.
Naresh 1st Gear March 16, 2008 Share March 16, 2008 (edited) No... my worry is not that the car has been test driven, but the fact that kids accompanying the parents to showroom run amok, completely out of control, hopping from cars to cars, banging car doors, messing with the controls, stereo, etc... But should you decide to get one (if the deal is good)... lookout for scratched rims. The dealer can touch-up the paint but not the rims. Surferguy1978 1st Gear March 16, 2008 Share March 16, 2008 true. given a choice, i would buy a new car. but if only got demo or display car, i would get display car.
Vicz Neutral Newbie March 16, 2008 Author Share March 16, 2008 have the same thinking... ha ha... no, not getting one. but if they give very good discount, i mean anything like 8k and above with everything done well and make good with the same warranty period...of cos provided if its a car that i want and hit the right time, then i would. am just wondering how many would want such cars. get to see ADs like KM or Opel doing it but i reckon that the discounts are not attractive enough. I guess... anyway, would u guys buy? I will not go for display or demo car. Unless: a) It is such a premium car (The cost difference may be great if go by percentage), b) Car requires long shipment period (months), c) No choice color and only display/demo car has it (some car has very limited color range), d) End of production model but still want to buy. Naresh 1st Gear March 16, 2008 Share March 16, 2008 Ya, the discounts generally not that attractive. Champion Motors was willing to offer me S$2K discount for the demo Suzuki Swift 1.5L that was test driven ~1000 km. I did not go for it. I could have negotiated it further, but did not since it was not the color I wanted.
Meecar Clutched March 16, 2008 Share March 16, 2008 if the car was used to ferry delegates about during a major conference I wont mind buying a demo car because you can get a fairly good discount after all what is a few more kilometers on the oddometer the minute you take the key and start the engine of your new car, tehre is a good 15-30 % depreciation most demo or display car comes with the usual warrant what's more no need to run in the engine the only problem you have to be sure is that it is not an accident car

Albeniz Turbocharged March 16, 2008 Share March 16, 2008 The private driving instructors usually don't mind buying these demo or display cars. This is the first step they took to reduce their overhead cost.

Chrispie 5th Gear March 16, 2008 Share March 16, 2008 i got myself a display car. I got it at about 6k cheaper. The mileage by the time it was delivered was about 300km already, but warranty for 3 years still stands. Until now, almost 4 years already i havent even touch 65k km yet. Everything was ok... only that the floor area has some of the linings fluffed out coz of people going in and out of the car and the friction between their shoes and the floor. I purposely asked for a different seat colour and trims so they have to change. Overall i think it was quite worthwhile. I wanted the standard version, but the display is the luxury version... they too lazy to take out the sports rims, dvd player and all and just threw all in for me. ↡ Advertisement
