Shull Turbocharged March 25, 2008 Share March 25, 2008 i seriously dont know what are we arguing about.. but i just wanna make the point known that a 2L TC shouldn't be producing about 220bhp..it should be way more..in the class of REX and EVO..if Hyundai can only squeeze out 220+bhp from it's TCed 2L..then something is wrong.. ↡ Advertisement
Silver_z 1st Gear March 25, 2008 Share March 25, 2008 Mabbe the Genesis is only running Low Boost? In the 90s, the 180SX 1.8L TC produce 180hp, the 200SX 2.0L TC produce 200hp, the 300ZX 3.0L produce 300hp. All these cars were running at 0.5bar boost. What is the boost of the Evo and WRX today? The Genesis may be a cheap sports car(dunno how cheap will it be), so the parts used are very standard, and the results yield from modification may be higher. Give it a slightly better exhaust, intake and slightly increase boost to 0.8 bar, and I believe you will see this fella rise up to 250bhp easily. Slowmo Clutched March 25, 2008 Share March 25, 2008 would love to see the koreans and china makes this time round. If there is a good product, it will stand the test of times. I have this thought that the local Korean cars distributors are not working hard enough, just my personal opinion. Regards, yep. the local korean car distributors are not pushing hard enough and just oriented to the $ aspects. Makes it worse when you have some korean brand fan boys driving wedges in between similiar korean makes. the scene in australia is different, there are plenty of getz around. Coolad 5th Gear March 25, 2008 Share March 25, 2008 Haha, isn't that typical of Hyundai, basically engine tech hasn;t catch up yet Tucani 2.0, NA only 130+HP Tucani 2.7 V6 somemore, only 160~170+HP so i am not surprised that a TC from Hyundai will have "low" HP. And regarding comments on CTR/ITR, both are very capable track cars that can commute daily if you do not mind the harsh ride. Anyway both CTR/ITR can tear a stock rex on drag race... even a STi will have a hard fight... 4WD with turbo lag compared to a NA 2WD...

It is always interesting to watch them fight among each other on track or drag, doesn't matter to me who wins or loses at the end of the day. Friendstar Supercharged March 25, 2008 Share March 25, 2008 like i said, its not about drag race. drag race is CTR's arena becos of hi-rev possibility.
Coolad 5th Gear March 25, 2008 Share March 25, 2008 CTR's strength is not exactly drag race due to its inherent low torque... its specialty is track... CTR/ITR have formiable reputations on track both local and overseas... their timing is just a shade off those turbo 4WD monsters like EVO... i'm sure those who do tracking here can attest that these "pesky" CTR/ITR are so hard to shake off...
