I ever sat in mark x. Actually, the 2 rear seats at side is quite spacious.

KM bringing in the new facelifted sonata in nov. But pre launch booking available now @ 69999 for the 2.0. Contact 91117521. She also told KM not bringing in the new tuscani as it's available only in left hand drive.

KM says test drive units will be available in Sept 2008.

 

But KM only bringing in the 2.0l version. This car quite heavy. Abt 1.4+ tons. I got doubts whether its underpowered.

 

I browse the net, they got this new model for the US market call "Genesis". 3.8L 290HP V6 Engine. And 4.6L 375HP V8.

I went to KM to get the catalog. The new sonata comes basic only. Manuel Air-Con, No Sun-roof, No electric seats etc.. I think KM should have a options list for those who can afford the car with these comfort features. But I'm not sure if they do. But overall the front look more better with large headlamps and grills. The rear looks the same with minor changes. The Interior looks good. And the power/torque is higher than the previous model. Better suspension etc etc. But it would be a good car if KM brings in the car with full accessories. Btw anyone know if the 2.4 version is coming?

the Achilles heel of the Hyundai cars is not the engine, but the gearbox. they still use an ancient 4 spd one.

i m always a strong believer in power-to-weight ratio person. the 2.4 will b much better, futhermore, it's equipped with 5-speed auto.

its about time KM look into it n bring in the 2.4 n mkt it differently, based more on performance n consumption, rather than selling cheap cars only.

I believe that the current gen Sonata was initially brought in as 2.4l model only, however, due to a lack of sales, KM brought in the 2l version.

 

Agree tat the 2l is underpowered

singaporeans r not well-versed in cars at all. the original 2.4 has better performance n consumption than the 2.0, yet singaporeans buy cos they scare to pay slightly higher road tax for the 2.4, which other than the better engine, looks exactly the same as the 2.0.

 

BUT

 

now the new facelifted 2.4 will come in with 5 speed auto, which is an additional feature to enhance the performance, smoothness n consumption, so must bring in the 2.4.

 

previously the camry 2.4 n 2.0 also same 4 speed auto, so naturally more people will buy the 2.0. but the new camry 2.4 comes with 5 speed auto and at $5,500 loading, borneo is selling 40% camry in 2.4 version.

 

KMPL consider this please.

By product for those who think that this car is expensive and a fuel guzzler. :)
