Do You?

We are talking about the level of fanaticism of babying the car and not the actual appropriatenes of the action. Even if you argue that detailers are having real problems, the amount of time, effort and money spent to fix these 'problems' is bordering on queer to the layman don't you think?

Also, popping the hood after you turn off the engine is different from a running car with air flowing through. Once the car is stationary and you turn off the ignition, the remaining hot air is trapped in the engine bay, with no more airflow the simple action of popping the hood, removes this 'bubble' of hot air, the insignificant fanning is just to aid the circulation, sounds futile though it may be. Yes, well, if you like, you can keep wasting your time with that. And the detailers can still waste their time doing what they do.

Time is our own, we choose what we want to do with it. If you feel that doing something like that is worthwhile to you, more power to you. You seem to think that the engine bay is an air-tight enclosure and that heat is an object that cannot diffuse or radiate beyond those confines. Like I said, up to you.

I kind of agree with your practice.

Yes, after engine is off, the cooling fan is stopped and no more in flow of air from the front grill. Hot air trapped in the engine bay. Engine will continue to get hotter before it slowly cools down.
