Should I change battery?

I still find that wet batteries can sustain power better dan dry cell batts regardless of brand or maintainance free. The stock wet batt on my companies lorry(Dyna) lasted for a good 4 years b4 it became weak. It's used frequently to run errands. But the cons about wet batt is have to monitor the water level.

 

I changed at my AD recently for slightly over $100 after gst. Cos it's the same stock batt found in my car which I find it quite good although it's a wet batt.

Have a day more to consider cos i'm going in for servicing this Sat.. now my mind 60% leaning towards changing the battery.. but over $100 more

 

they can do battery test on ur car. some load test to test the health during cranking. so it can give you a rough gauge.

 

the AA guy who changed my dad's battery did a free test on mine. he says 6 months more at least. and why would a battery seller not wanna sell me a battery (unless u tell me he earns for each call to AA ).

 

of course in 2 months time or when I'm doing something to my ride i will get the battery tested again to play safe.

u managed to get a wet batt? i asked ard two WS and they only offer MF batts.

 

i'd prefer wet battery anyday even for the same price. don't mind topping up, but i mind paying more in the long run for more frequent replacements

I've a used Maintenance Battery for sell, only use for 1 yr. Charged. Can Last you another 12 months with problem free..

my 1.5yo maint-free batt died on me last week.Couldn't start few times and luckily my gf helped to jump start.I then went to change a new batt.There's still batt but weak.Changed for $95.

 

Anyway, after changing the new batt, my car got stalled once.I suspect the connector was loose but it's fine now.

My ride seems to need to crank a bit more in order for the car to start. Its 4 months old only. Do you guys think its also battery problem?

My car battery already near to 40mths and still going strong according to mechanics.

Mine is Maintenance free battery but driving manual. Hear manual car battery last longer.

My ride is now 31mths old and clocked 43k km mileage.. have been running on stock maintenance free battery since day 1 and still no visible sign that battery gonna die... since i would prefer not to encounter battery sudden death syndrome and be stranded in the middle of nowhere, i'm wondering if i should just change battery during next servicing or wait for battery to show some signs that it's gonna die. Batteries prices not cheap now leh.. so also dun wanna spend money prematurely and waste a still working battery.

 

 

if u dun travel Mal very often, den just relax... even if u stuck in no where in SG, u can still easily get your friend or colleague or family to help to check for nearby tyreshop for batt delivery. most shop charge $10 to $20 for nearby offsite service to change your batt for you. as u said, batt is not cheap now, can drag, better drag... unless u have plenty of money to spend...

Change. you may not be able to tell any signs that it gonna die...

 

My last batt simply die like that, no signs at all. 1 crank started my ride all the time.

 

Best to keep a jump starter kit in your ride. Not jump start cables, cos you may not be able to find any cars willing to help you jump start. With a jump starter kit, you simply connect the + and - to your batt and crank.

Get the nanopulser battery desulphator just like me

 

Battery coming to 18 months soon and still strong behaves like new and I won't get a flat again confirm I hope to use the battery to beyond 6 years, which I believe can be achieved.

 

Boyboy has it on his ride now and monitoring. His battery is 20+ months old now
