Testa_ross4 Clutched June 29, 2008 Share June 29, 2008 Bros, I just installed this in my 2.0 l Camry on Saturday, supposed to improve air intake and aid combustion. Anymore mods I need to do? ↡ Advertisement
Kungfu Clutched June 29, 2008 Share June 29, 2008 Wow, this one solid, designed mostly for WRX/Evo and their type, the air flow is straight in,no bending here n there.
Testa_ross4 Clutched June 29, 2008 Author Share June 29, 2008 Ha Ha, I actually installed this on impulse, don't really know what are the benefits, maybe some bros can help. Looks nice though

Wt_know Supersonic June 29, 2008 Share June 29, 2008 i believe this setup will have a side effect of losing low-end right however, driving in singapore low-end is the upmost critical. mid-to-high end, you have gained but how many times do you cruise 100+ kmph consistently ? i'm sure you will enjoyed it at nsh with some kopi-o money
Smhomie Clutched June 29, 2008 Share June 29, 2008 Well, you have a CAI setup and this should improve your mid range torque driveability and high end power. Your low end would not be affected. Don't expect miracles but a 3-4hp gain is a good gauge for now (at top end). Your power is limited only because of your TWC (Three Way Catalytic) in your manifold which is a major exhaust velocity barrier. Currently, you have not optimized your intake and car's potential. You will have to tune the car's ecu and changes its embedded drivers to take maximum advantage of the higher intake velocity which then translates into meaningful torque increase and better fuel economy. Testa_ross4 Clutched June 29, 2008 Author Share June 29, 2008 Wow thanks bro, I dont even know what this is called. Yeah I think you are right, I now have bigger nose but not bigger lungs to take advantage of the extra air intake. Where to tune ECU and how to mod the TWC? I hope low end not affected, I dont want increase in FC.
Testa_ross4 Clutched June 29, 2008 Author Share June 29, 2008 I think not optimised yet, so don't really feel any difference at the moment.

Zyrmym Neutral Newbie July 5, 2008 Share July 5, 2008 Yea looks like a short Ram. This mod supposedly would help with sluggishness when you drive in the afternoon heat. It draws relatively colder air from the front gill as opposed to the stock setup of drawing from the hot air in the engine bay. Throttle response should improve, means less SMing your throttle and your FC should improve. The other scenario is you get addicted to the new responsiveness and continue to step to enjoy the kick and your FC would drop. Haha.
Testa_ross4 Clutched July 6, 2008 Author Share July 6, 2008 (edited) I thought short ram draws air from inside the engine bay, CAI draws air from outside. FC has improved on long drives above 80km/h as that is where the effect of higher air intake kicks in, although the difference in performance is frankly imperceptible. No change for low end so far. So far looks damn impressive to my friends, my son thinks I installed a turbo unit Edited July 6, 2008 by Testa_ross4
Akari_ph 1st Gear July 6, 2008 Share July 6, 2008 very nice ... wonder what is the damage?
Zyrmym Neutral Newbie July 6, 2008 Share July 6, 2008 Haha, yea on second look definitely not cold air intake. But the air drawing position definitely changed to a relatively colder place over stock. Heh let your son think you just added a bolt on turbo for your camry. Enjoy your ride!
