looks disappointing ! the legendary NSX has lost its heritage of Mid Engine Rear driven layout, and the super low profile look ! how did the one-of-a-kind NSX starting to look like a 350Z ? [shakehead]

Neutral Newbie

The original NSX was never intended to be a volume sales product. It just sits there pretty for Honda buyers to "aspire", something that shows the world what Honda capable off, and in the process those Honda buyers have that sense of pride for buying a lesser car from a brand that can build such a car. In marketing term, halo effect.

Do remember, if Honda pulling the FN2-FD2 fiasco again, this car might not be the real replacement for NSX. I don't know, everything is possible at this point. 2011 is after all the deadline for Acura to be launched in Japan, and my US$32 (the amount of money I have in my wallet currently) bet is that this car will be launched as an Acura, not Honda.

About the car being front engined, do remember that the S2000 is a Front-mid ship engine car, not just standard plain front engine. The engine is placed further back to the firewall, and a lot of empty space between the radiator and the engine. So, from the logic that the NSX replacement benefits from a past Honda product knowledge, front engine placement might not be bad at all [;)] One car that is categorized as a Front midship engine is the famous SLR.

American muscle car also have improved throughout the years. The Corvette ZR-1 is now officially the fastest production car to blast through nurburgring, beating the GT-R... Now the ZR-1 is powered by a 6.2L supercharged V8 producing 638 bhp, if that's not silly, I don't know. But the time when American cars can just go straight and gulps fuel like there's no tomorrow are gone, it now go straight, gulps fuel like no tomorrow and turn on a dime. The nurburgring is chosen because it doesn't have many straight lines that is preferred by "fast in straight-slow in corner" classic American muscle cars. So it is quite representative of a car's dynamic handling and power.

Turbocharged

The 100bhp per litre mark has been breached by many Japanese cars such as the EK Civic SiR, S2000, Type Rs, Mitsubishi Lancer Mivec and etc. Thats why I said its not such a big deal. Regardless, its supercar territory. Hope it lives up to the expectations

most or in fact all normal aspirated engines need to be able to rev high to achieve outstanding power output.

and i had read somewhere that smaller engines are easier to achieve high rev compare to bigger cc cars, not sure of the exact reasons behind but i think it got to do with the engine strokes or what.

so i believe this V10 is carefully designed, another step closer to those italians.thumbsup.gif

i saw this in another forum and before i clicked the link,i had a rough imaginations of the car which is close to its former model.

but if it is really not much different in design to its predecessor, people will start saying the same old look..etc

its hard to please everybody, but i shall reserve my comments on its look until i see the real thing or when it is officially launch.wink.gif
