last I heard is that AGIs have updated their maps. But I did not install AGIS in my phone, using Garmin XT instead.....

I have stiched the Garmin maps together where I have maps from Singapore up to Thailand. also have whole of Europe map, which I am keeping and will be using when I travel over next week, EU maps is 1.4g worth of data.

For Omnia, since you have 16GB memory, you could easily install programs into my storage instead of storage card.

This Omnia is made for multimedia and is very good as a MP3 player. Other WM device, once you switch off the screen, if you are playing music, the music will stop as the device is turned off. But for this device, Samsung have made it such that it is overridden, even the screen is off, music continue. Because screen is not sapping battery power, you it can listen to music for hours. If you look at the ear piece, it is detachable such that you can use a set of more expensive and good earphones to listen to music.

Think Samsung had made their market research well when they produce this phone.

One pieve I have about it is the memory card, which do not have an external slot, but is inside, where you have to remove the battery to access. But I know why it is made this way, hey you have 16 GB, you don't need a card.....

Neutral Newbie

Bro KapitanE... Long time didn't hear from you....

Maybe I was too busy...

How is your bB?? Or, change already??

Anyway, suggestion when using Garmin... don't stick too large map... better segment it accordingly and copy over to replace the original GMAP file... otherwise, it will be a bit slot in accessing the map... that's what happened to my previous 6515...

Currently contemplating whether to get the OMNIA too...

Seems like you are enjoying this toy already... got any problem so far?

With my 6515, the Windows Mobile is not very good... maybe HP design problem.. once loaded more software, can't get the SMS to work properly... so, end up using the 6515 as GPS only...

Anyway, any good lohbang to get the OMNIA???

Thanks..

Anyone managed to get Adobe reader, Skype and Worldmate to work on the Omnia? These 3 software can't seem to install properly.

The Omnia is good, plenty of features. But am getting frustrated with so many applications unable to install on the Omnia due to the new Windows Mobile 6 OS and Omnia's screen resolution.

Hi,

Personally ... I am very used to Windows Mobile.

In fact, I can't use other OS liao.

Must be Windows Mobile .... not even iPhone for now.

Same here. My GTS software run only in Windows Mobile 5 and above so I have no other choice too. Looking at LG KS20.

Regards,

great to see a thread on Omnia here.

Been comtemplating on getting this toy but previous 3 WM phone i had didn't impress me, 2 of which is touch screen (o2 and another taiwanese one) and a kimchi i600.

Omnia has all i want in a phone; GPS,MP3, 5MP camera and touch feel. Too bad no FM

But I wonder for SMSing, is the input using phone pad or QWERTY. I tried it at Vivo but couldn't switch it to phone pad.

THe touch feel is good, at least u know u are entering something.

using Nokia Navigator now.

Now waiting to hear if SMS is using phone pad.

There are a few input methods available. There's a virtual QWERTY keyboard and also the phone pad input method.

I tried the HTC Diamond and the touch screen is not very sensitive. I spoke to the phone shop guy and he told me that actually it's not the touch screen that's the problem but the phone is laggy hence it feels as if the touch screen is not sensitive. Apparently a firm ware upgrade will resolve the lagginess.... Another downside to the HTC Diamond is that it does not support external memory card...

Yes, i read about the latest firmware upgrade. Even though it is put online for users to do own upgrade, I will probably not do that, but will visit Samsung this week to have mine upgraded....
