Abstract:

STOMPer Havok was driving when he saw this Traffic Police car stopping inside a yellow box at a traffic junction near Ang Mo Kio Central.

He says his friend, who was in the car with him, took the photo at about 8.30am today (May 29).

"The lights were red and the pedestrians were crossing the road. If civilian cars are summoned by TP for violating the yellow box rule, who's going to summon the TP?" the STOMPer wonders.

"I believe the Traffic Police knows best about traffic rules," he adds.

STOMP contacted the Police and this is its response on June 19:

"Police are investigating the case.

"We seek the cooperation of the STOMPer who took the picture to contact Chief Investigation Officer ASP Johnny Loo at 6547 6142 to provide more details on the incident."

TP response:

Police says although a Traffic Police car was seen stopping inside a yellow box at a junction, it was not causing any obstruction to other vehicles, so there was no offence committed.

This reply came after STOMPer Havok wondered if the driver had committed an offence since it parked inside the yellow box.

The Police says in its reply:

"Police have investigated the matter.

"We had earlier sought STOMP's assistance to ask the STOMPer to contact us, but he has not done so to date.

"Under the Road Traffic Rules, although part of the vehicle was in the yellow box, it was not causing obstruction to any other vehicle proceeding to or along that road junction and, as such, no offence was committed."

Dear stompers, note this sentence and use it to your advantange in the future:

"it was not causing any obstruction to other vehicles, so there was no offence committed"

As long if we don't obstruct any traffic we can stop in yellow box! Bookmark this link and use it as evidence in the future!

Siao, still want stomper who reports this to contact them? Who dares? Peasants will never win against the mighty men in blue.

So...forumers, must use that sentence to our advantages. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Simple logic.. [:p]

When TP stop in yellow box.. not obstructing traffic..

When we stop in yellow box.. obstructing traffic..

Those who passed negative comment shd go back for test.

It was not causing obstruction to any other vehicle proceeding to or along that road junction and, as such, no offence was committed

The above clause was all the time applicable.

Example : a veh stopped at traffic junction waiting to turn right in the yellow box for the other side of traffic to clear.

See the point ?

Hmm...like that also can. Maybe I should ask my friend who was fined years ago to get a refund. His 3/4 of his car was in the yellow box (in Orchard road, but did not block any traffic..but block 1/3 of the pedestrian crossing) and a TP just walked up to him and gave him a ticket.

Agree with you that those who posted negative commments should seek psychiatric help. The Stomper is a person who as NO LIFE and therefore end up posting nonsense.

But then there are many in MCF too, who fall into such category! [sly][laugh] ....which is just as well since the Poodles deal with such cases all the time! [laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh]

its being taught to me in bbdc that the above is true.

i neeed some clarifications from bros here,

does stopping to wait for traffic = parking?

when i read the stomp article and it said parked in yellow box, i thought it meant the police parked as in kill engine type.
