married in June... baby due in NOV... same year? hmmm shot guy?

wow a 12 yr gap... that's really quite alot. think it's easy to forsee all the possible problems that will come up slowly over time, but we'll never know what e outcome will be, hopefully it'll be a long lasting marriage.... as for me I'd never marry an older woman, because of the various reasons.

Gosh...... not that i bad hearted or what but we shall see how long can they last. Mayb the girl no prob but the guy? 20 yr old n a father......... can he bear the responsibilities of being a father? can he forgo the freedom n stay at home to look after children when his peers are out partying whole nite long? We shall see

anyway on average, girls are 2 years mentally more matured than guys. IF we factor that into account, seperating them are 14 years of mental difference and 12 years of physical difference.

Mmmm. This 2 year mental/developmental gap applies only up till puberty. The catching up should be completed by adulthood. Any other "maturity" factors are purely sociological in nature (eg. settling down and starting a family, taking up responsibilities, identity formation and the conceptions of self within relationships). These "maturity" factors vary greatly between male individuals and should not be confused with the 2-year childhood developmental gap.

laugh.giflaugh.gifi am not sure if it ends only at puberty. i know what you saying that it should have been evened out by adult time. But seems like still see 20 year old guy more childish than 20 year old girl...

Keke ok la, i don't wanna persist in this opinion whatever it is, unless the guy is really very very matured in thinking (those that mature much earlier than his peers), then will this marriage be in healthy state.

I've also a friend who became a father at age 20. I think he is doing pretty well in his marriage and accepting the responsibilities of fatherhood. His kids are both big already while mine a still small. If they (the couple mentioned by TS) do manage to pull it off, there will certainly be some advantages for their family.

I think when push comes to shove, its a matter of an acceptance of responsibilities above self gratification that makes or breaks a family unit.

Even if they can iron out any problems or differences brought about by their age gap, I cannot bring myself to imagine how the guy will feel in time to come.

Fast forward 15 years when the guy is only 35 and is in the prime of his life and career, he will be bringing out an auntie nearly 50 yrs old. Let us not forget that women age faster than men and most asian women don't age gracefully [:/]

ok la, i am not ruling out there are people that can mature faster and make the marriage work. as bystanders our views are academic although the persons involved should not be half sure if they are the type that will make it work.
