m'sian comes over s'pore to chge other than m'sia made taya, yet u go over there to chge...alamak [:/] boleh land impose taxes on imported taya, so its more ex than here any time [;)]

yeah i remember last time those malaysian cars want to buy tyres from spore but cannot...think is against their law or something like that...so what they do is buy 2nd hand branded tyres from spore or buy new tyres, drive ard to burn away the markings b4 making their way back to boleh land

Hi Mr Ham,my encik drove into malaysia to change a Michellin tyre,don't know which model,for S$360.4 pieces,they do wheel balancing and alignment.Where got expensive?Btw,his tyre profile are as such 195/60/R15 .Expensive meh?But now i take his car,a bit bumpy liao,not as comfortable as before.Last time before this he use Toyo,think stock tyre,very comfortable.

Anyone tried changing tyres over the causeway.

Any recommendation and prices.

Always the check the Date of Manufacturing of the tyres. I heard that there are workshops that take >2years tyres from SGP and sell. In our humid environment, anything more than 2 years are not advisable... unless the tyres have been kept in a well sheltered and humidity controlled warehouse.

That I don't know.But what i heard is that he got warranty card for 6 years if the tyre ka-boom,which i think i crap. [hur] I don't think is old tyre cuz he did ask me if i check my manufacture date when i change,i just changed my recently also.

i agree with hamburger, same model of tyres actually more ex across the causeway. speaking from experience too. they got additional tax for imported tyres, plus high price for local made tyres. something to do with protecting their rubber industry.

Imitation?Probably.Maybe his Michellin is made in Malaysia.He keep saying my yokohama tyre lousy,but he paid cheaper to get a better brand.Lol.He likes to make me feel stupid,when his tyres give way,see who looks more stupid. [laugh]

your "encik" as in army type??? if yes, can understand his behavior lah..imagine he lao jiao in the army but still need to salute to 2LT who is young n green green, self-esteem and confidence sure hit...some "encik" really think they know everything under the sun, moon n stars...jack of all trade but master of none...this also applies to ocifer as well....

if i m not wrong tyres has a thin layer of protecting wax, when expose to elements for a long period of time, this wax will deteriorate thus tyres will crack...just like the spare tyre in car boot, if the owner never use throughout the ownership lifespan, you will see the tyre crack even though our climate is humid...
